I agree. My point was that sales isn't always indicative about how good a device is and depending on if your and android or iPhone user they have hypocritical viewpoint on it. I am with you but it appears the One is also selling to go along with it's praise. They announced 5 million already and that's good. Everyone won't sell 10 million in a month like apple lol. But I agree I hope they turn it around too. But this thread is about being the best according to this site based on some subjective stuff that shouldn't matter to many and proves nothing lol.

Sales and all that stuff is a different thread for a different topic for a different time because as we know these things aren't always related.

I will say that I have seen a number of excellent photos from the S4 in the S4 forum, so it does look like it has excellent capabillites.

I am pretty thrilled with the one camera myself. It is very fast and responsive and it keeps surprising me with how good it is. After last night, I have taken over 1000 pictures with the phone in 5 weeks (and that doesn't even count the 20x shots from zoe as more than one image - they all are grouped under the same image number.)

That is crazy. I have owned nice cameras for 20 years and never took that many shots in 5 months probably, let alone 5 weeks. That number indicates just how easy, fun and rewarding the camera is to use, and as I get more familiar with it I find I am taking more pictures now than even a couple weeks ago.

If it was laggy or slow to open and use, no matter if it took marginally better pictures I doubt I would use it a fraction of what I am. Also, just think of the additional hassels (storage space, copy time, etc) of dealing with 1000 photos a month from a 13mp camera vs. a 4mp?

So I guess my comment boils down to AC rates the One the best phone even though they think the S4 has the better camera - that says a lot about the other attributes of the One. Honestly, the camera is my favorite feature of the One and is the biggest reason I bought it.

It was never snarky at all.. I simply just pointed out what he said. That is the problem with text sometimes.. Can't tell the emotion behind it.

I am always nice in posts.. So please check on me before judging how you think I was saying it... Or simply ask me in a PM.

This was to be expected. I would have been surprised if the S4 got the top pick. Very, very surprised.
 
I think I can speak on behalf of several HTC One owners when I say that if the HTC One didn't look like the way it did, we probably would all be owning a GS4 now.

As much as we'd like to think of ourselves as high-brow sophisticated android users, we can't deny the influence that beautiful design and aesthetics has on us as consumers when we are deciding between purchases. A phone that flat out looks great and feels great will always have a competitive advantage even if what's inside may not all be state-of-the-art or top-of-the-line.

The One's beautiful exterior design, the aluminum body, the feel/weight of the phone and the gorgeous display and sound sold me. This was even before I went into the comparisons between Sense/Touchwiz, device specs, and software. In my opinion, the "stuff" under the hood of all recent smartphones have been stellar. Part of the benefits of being a consumer in an ultra-competitive android market. At the end of the day, the software differences are not going to really make or break my experience with a phone (at least for the casual user). But having a gorgeous phone that is a head-turner and feels great in your hand is something that alot of people may be underrating imo. This is what I love about my One. It's not the beastiest or best phone on the block, but it is one good-looker. And nobody can ever find fault in that :)

I would agree with you. I like my one a lot, but the other Android offerings are really good also.
