Android O for the Pixel and Pixel XL.

If anyone values Bluetooth in their car, do not load the Beta on your Pixel XL, especially the Verizon Pixel XL. There is NO OTA return to Nougat. Bluetooth is totally messed up on my Pixel XL and UConnect.

Check now. It's fixed

Has anyone been able to install from apkmirror, or update from Play Store any Google apps like Google, Contacts, Play Store, GMail, etc.?? Nothing from Google will install but Waze, and office apps.

This is caused by factory resetting after installing the beta. The apps that come in the beta are signed, and cannot be updated. Looks like the only fix is to unenroll from beta. when back on 7.1.2 update all the apps to the latest version, then re-enroll back into the beta. What a pain in the arse!! Two hours of my life i won't get back. Whatever you do, if you want to be able to update your Google apps, don't factory reset after you install the beta. Grrrrr

Ok, so I've been on Android O Beta for about a week now and overall it has not been a bad experience for me on my Pixel XL. A couple of things that I have noticed however:

The battery life has definitely not been as good. I usually run Nova Prime and at first I thought that may be the culprit. I have been using the Pixel Launcher for the last couple of days and the battery life has continued to not be as good as it was on Nougat. It seems like the doze feature is doing what it's supposed to do, but if I'm actually using the device the battery plummets very quickly. I've kept all my settings the same as before too. Screen brightness, closing apps all the time, etc.

Second, the camera has some serious lag when trying to launch it via the double tap of the power button. In trying to catch that quick shot this has been a bit frustrating.

Thirdly, the casting to my Google Home has really been acting crazy. Cutting off randomly, or if I decide to stop casting it will continue to play, and even skipping tracks via the phone is not what it once was (slow response or not skipping at all).

Finally, the Bluetooth connection on certain devices has been just a tad spotty. I realize that a lot of folks have always had complaints about the Bluetooth on Nougat, but I really didn't have much problem. I'm beginning to see some of those effects on O.

I will say that overall I have enjoyed the experience with O and it has been relatively stable for me. These are just minor hindrances and aren't anything that I can't deal with. I think I'm going to ride it out and see how it continues to perform. I'm getting used to the new settings layout and am even beginning to like the new look of the settings menu, quick toggles, etc. I really like the notification "snooze" option too.

Just flashed my pixel with android O and I must say the animations are great, UI has improved much and the boot on time is improved by 30 sec or so but while playing Ahphalt 8 its lagging and droping frames.
Hope this will be fixed in next updates.

I had a long period of extreme slow down today. Had to restart the phone. Cleared it up.

There is a bonus in the Bluetooth department, Google did add HiFi audio over Bluetooth in this beta, under developer options.

I am down to one vpn app I need for work that still doesn't work. Luckily I have an alternative for right now. But not forever. Once in a while a slow down, or bug will she up. But, usually quickly fixed with a cache clear or restart. How is everyone else doing?

If you don't mind, which VPN app isn't working?

All in all, my Android O experience has been good. I'm not noticing any significant change in battery life nor am I having Bluetooth issues. In fact, my primary issue at this time is that Light Manager does not appear to work with O.

Fortinet crashes upon opening.

Anyone having trouble updating apps? Most of my apps refuse to update and I get error messages. I've tried restarting and clearing data or cache for the apps but still no luck.

No problem here. I have received numerous automatic updates plus several that I have forced ("Update now").

Let me guess, you did a factory reset after installing O?

Figured out my problem. I had to leave the Play Services Beta. I joined after seeing someone mention that they got better battery life on Android O with the Play Serives Beta. I un-erolled and uninstalled updates and I was able to update and install news apps.

Hi all.
For those interested in running the latest build of Android O from Google, the Android Beta Program has been fired up.

So long as you own a supported device (Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel, or Pixel XL), all you need to do is enroll in the program, then you should soon receive a notification asking you to download the beta. Very simple, very straightforward.

Can anyone log in to their WellsFargo app?? I know im using the correct password. But it keeps telling me "An unknown error occurred. Please try again later."

If you unenroll from the beta program you will get an OTA to go back to N. It will wipe your phone though
