I see 'em. But they don't seem to do anything.

Mine ain't movin' at all.
When you go into recent apps and drag it it becomes longer and moves left and right through the apps so you don't need to manually scroll through them.

Didn't even have to hit the update button. Powered on the phone and immediately got the notification! :D

I got it, but after I restated into DP4, the phone really heated up and quickly drained the battery. Rebooted again, and things seem to have settled down.

Pixel 2 XL, BTW.

Downloading and installing now on my Pixel XL. Got the July OTA security update on my Essential PH-1 earlier today. Too bad Essential hasn't offered an OTA Android P Beta. I am not going to bother with flashing it. I will wait for the official OTA release.

That's not correct, you need to just flash the initial one and all the other updates have been OTA. Today's update came on my essential phone before Google pushed it down themselves.

Drag right first
OK. I thought the pill itself was moving right and left, but the pill just turns into a slider that allows you to slide to and fro through the recent apps cards. Meh.

As for the dark theme business. It only works with system wallpapers, and even then it only themes about 3 items "attached" to the Home screen. That's asinine. I'm glad Substratum has been working out a way to theme rooted P devices.

Doesn't just work with wallpapers any more.

Not anymore. They made it to where you can select the dark theme no matter your wallpaper

With some third party savers it reverts back to light. If you use your own pictures it's ok.
I stand corrected. It doesn't work with the live wallpaper app I use, which makes more sense but still irks me. So, for me, Android P stands for, This is personal!

Props to Google for the new Accessibility Menu! That seems like a step in the right direction for simplifying navigation for a chunk of users. Then again, who knows what a full-on gesture approach to navigation could do to enhance accessibility/usability? Hmmm?
