It seems that Android pie might be scheduled for release by Samsung in the first half of 2019, if the Samsung Services update is an indicator.

The services update notification can be found in the Samsung Members app, and includes info on apps to be updated in the first half of 2019 (refer pic)

So, like with the oreo update earlier this year, it seems Samsung prefers to release an upgraded OS approx 7 months or so after initial release.

Doesn't bother me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Where do you find the members app?

NOTE I've since been informed that the name of the app in the US, and possibly CA, is Samsung+.

So, search for that in galaxy apps or playstore.

I've read that screenshot several times and don't get how anyone can surmise when Pie will be released. It's just stating what phones / Android versions will be supported. Hopefully Pie comes out for some phones before the end of the year. But, first half of 2019 is a pretty broad and expected range. Not anything out of the ordinary. I'm hoping for this year still.

Yes, it's definitely a wait and see :)
