Android System - Battery issues!

With the phone off, press and hold the power button and the volume up button (or is it volume down?) until the Samsung logo appears, then let go. It'll boot up into the menu where you can then wipe your cache. Doing that didn't do anything for me but it might for you!

The article I read said volume down and power, and it didn't work for me. I'll try volume up and power next time.

Update: so yesterday I did my 4th factory reset, except after I did a normal reset I booted into recovery mode, cleared the cache, and did another wipe. Not sure if that's what did it, but it has improved greatly. Before Android System was always ahead of screen usage, by the end of the day screen was at 20-something percent and android system was around 30. Right now, even though android system is still second, it's more online with everything else and far below screen. It also really helped as last night I let my phone idle and battery only went down 1% after an hour, before it would go down 5-10%.

I hope this works for you. When I did my factory reset, Android System was second in %, to SOT just by a few percentages. But after the next charging cycle, Android System has been at the top, and at the end of that charge cycle it was at 30% usage.

On the one had I don't know if I should be bothered by it because as far as charging times go, it charges really fast with the OEM charger, especially if I turn my phone off and leave it alone. But on the other hand, I have never experienced this with my S7Edge, or Note8, especially when brand new and all carrier locked.

It's just very frustrating that we cannot figure out what is causing it or how to manage it to get better battery life again.

Heres where my phone stats were just after it hit 1% and input it on the charger for the 3rd charge cycle since my factory reset on Saturday.

Android System is at 30%. And the only way I was able to stretch it for the few hours I was asleep, was I turned on max battery save.

If you have time I would monitor this safe mode , be best if u have a back phone to use

Think I figured it out. Looks like its wifi calling. I hadn't noticed that I forgot to turn it on after my last factory reset. I turned it on and android system starting eating up battery again. I turned it off and things got better again. I would recommend turning it off if you can, it really sucks as wifi calling was the only reason I got the at&t model in the first place.

WiFi calling for you, too? I turned mine off and my battery improved as well. Interesting...I wonder what about WiFi calling is causing the bug.

For me, I can live without it. I couldn't care less about it lol.

Same here! Especially at home. But it wasn't this bad the first time I got it, and my Note8 was never this bad either.

That is interesting. I just turned on wifi calling on Thursday I think, and wonder if that was it. I turned it off and took its permissions away. Lets see what happens.

How would I do that? I'm not familiar with it.
Safe mode is like when you put your computer in safe mode , it disables 3rd party apps to see if they causing issues.
I'll have to look up how to get into safe mode on note 10+

So disappointed. It had okay battery and out of no where went to ****. When I changed to note 9 from note 8, I was so impressed with the battery. For 8 months the battery was reliable everyday. I thought samsung figured it out and that the 10 with a bigger battery would be better but this is horrible. The only time I got really good battery with this phone was when I'm home and not really having it look for service and brightness low.

Another bad day here. And here's some stats from Accubattery pro. Not sure what's doing it but not an app.

I'm doing the same. When I turned it off my Android system was 17%. I'll take a peak in a couple hours.

Ok this how you get safe mode:
Turn on and use safe mode

Turn the device off.

Press and hold the Power key.

When 'Samsung' appears on the screen, release the Power key.

Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.

Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.

So, I tried to see how today would go once I saw to try turning off wifi calling...its not any better and from a full charge too. Its actually worse for me. The only "improvement" is that SOT was finally actually more usage than Android System, but what's worse is that my battery barely got through half a day. And Android System is not to far behind in % used. SOT is actually pretty impressive, and I even streamed about 30 minutes on netflix, and it's not even showing on the list. But for not even getting into tomorrow, not even for double digit hours off the charger, is really disappointing.

This is just really disappointing.
