Android System - Battery issues!

Turned mine off but on mine it was called AT&T Mobile Network Diagnostics. So I turned it off.

I've got something for people to try to reduce Android System drain.....

Connections/mobile networks/samsung mobile network diagnostics

Turn off.

Seems like my battery usage line has flattened out.

Yeah I was wrong it is AT&T. Interesting that my Android system use has barely budged since I changed that.

What does that service do? Any issues with turning it off?
I researched abnormal Android System use and this was one on the recommendations I found. It seems pretty inconsequential and to the benefit of AT&T and data collection. In any case I'm done trying to troubleshoot this. I'll see how things look tomorrow and if I don't see an improvement my Note 10 + goes back. Because I've tried everything but a wipe. AT&T gives you two weeks to return and I'm almost out of time.

Yup, I hear you, I am in the same boat. Friday is my last day I can return. I got ATT version from Best Buy, where I traded in my S10. What the heck will they do if i want to return?

I'm on the Next plan at AT&T and they have the buyers remorse clause where you can return the phone within 2 weeks and you're free and clear. Don't know if that ends Next for me but I do know I can go to another carrier and buy another phone. I really don't know how BB and AT&T handles things. It's an awkward time because I'd be interested in the new iPhone Max but that won't be available for around 3 weeks I'm guessing.

So, today was a lot better than the last week or so. But nowhere near the first 3 days. Looks like I can only stretch into a second day when I put the phone on Max Battery setting.

My Android System jumped up a few %s after I got home and started to use WiFi, so I'm still convinced it has something to do with that.

Here's where I am at 1030 pm and I'm about to head to sleep. Unfortunately, because of this battery life, I doubt I'd be able to use it beyond how I need to vs. How I'd like to.

Very odd I'm on AT&T Note10 Plus Carrier U Version Snapdragon and since day 1 when recieved my Note10 Plus on the 21st and i never turned that off Mobile network diagnostics and i am getting excellent battery life, not saying that this isn't happening to some , But just saying it's very odd thought that some are not having this issue, here's what i got on SOT after i arrived last night at my house.

Also forgot to mention only 2 things i have disabled on Package Disabler Pro is Bixby Voice and AT&T IQI which is some type of spyware AT&T can collect all your privacy information so i disable that.

I'm at 1% Android System usage after 3.5 hours today. Battery at 90% with 50 minutes SOT. I did turn off ATT network diagnostics. I'll post a chart later today. BTW I did some other things along with turning off diagnostics.....removed the Google search bar widget, some apps I wasn't using and removing location permissions to a couple of apps. So I can't say for sure my promising results thus far are cause and effect related to the network diagnostics switch. But in any case this is all too much work and we shouldn't have to all this to get reasonable battery life. I'm kinda on the fence with AT&T and may be done with them in the next day or two.

I've been happy with my battery. But I'm also on att and had seen the att diagnostic was on, after reading you'll post about it. I turned it off.
Thanks for the tip.
Don't want them spying on me
😉

This how my battery looks after 6.5 hours. 81% battery left. Pretty dramatic change in Android System use after turning off AT&T diagnostics. I also removed the Samsung steps widget and Google search widget. The battery projection is conservative since it's accounting for my past days of poor performance.

I too turned off Bixby voice. I think I might have done that yesterday....actually I was prompted and since I don't use it at all except for routines there was no reason to keep it on. Seems to me these 'live' services hold the potential to mess up your battery since they need to be active all the time. Same goes for the steps widget I had on the screen until yesterday.
