Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings

There is no need for you to get all sci-fi on us and bring religion into it.

I wasn't the one that equated a phone coming before a set date to a religious event. You did. Or do you think that miracles happen outside of religion?

At the same time, recognize when someone is just yanking your chain and lighten up.

Yeah, we all want our new gadgets. But going on about how you feel put out because a company used the word ?by? in a way you find ambiguous is silly.

What plug does it use? Someone said something about non micro USB. Please no, not that, not again.

Any word on NFC? Not that google wallet seems really usable.

Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like??

I see 2 different views here. Some people think the by 7/9 means anytime up to and including that date. Others see it as meaning shipping on 7/9. I never said I was put out by it. I just wish we knew why it was after everyone else and if thats definitely when its going to ship. This particular sub forum seemed to be created to mock those who think that "by" means up to and including. I guess I felt like defending that position. I wasn't ranting or threatening to leave Verizon like some others on this site. I was just saying what I thought Verizon could do to smooth out their phone launches. Mainly just asking for a little clearer info. Suntan, If you were just busting chops thats fine, but insinuating that I was 4 and telling me to grow up, rubbed me the wrong way. As far as miracles, I wasnt even the one that brought it up. joebob2000 mentioned them, in mocking any chance we had of Verizon shipping early. But hey this has been fun and passed one more day of waiting.

I do agree it would be a miracle if somehow the phone came out early. My point is that because of that little word "by" they opened the door for everyone to speculate. 3 weeks is a long time to listen to everyone else rave or complain about what should be the exact same phone. Hell, some people on this site will already be sick of theirs and ready to move on before we get ours. Obviously, even the people saying they are ok waiting, are still coming to read about a phone they don't have again and again. This isn't like the first galaxys, where each one was different. These are the exact same phones with slightly different firmware for each networks bandwidth. Some of us are just wondering why ours is coming almost a month after everyone else's, that's all.

Okay, so Verizon left open the possibility that the phones could ship early, but you realize that isn't likely to happen, and that's a problem? I don't see why everyone is upset they said "by" rather than "on", as "on" would just be confirmation that there is no chance of you getting it early. Is the slight chance of a surprise that stressful?

Don't worry, I'm not taking offense at what you said or singling anyone out, I'm just giving my interpretation, as I see no reason for complaint here. If you think you won't be happy with the phone, you shouldn't have ordered it, and its not too late to cancel. Any other phone that you can upgrade to without losing your data is already available, and everything else isn't available yet and won't be for awhile. So I don't see what other phone every Verizon customer could see as "better" at this point.

And if someone is ready to move on from the phone of the year after 3 weeks, I wouldn't put much stock in their opinion. ;)

My mind is blown. Thanks.

I feel your pain though.I had pre ordered the Evo 4G LTE at BestBuy
the very first day(actually I was the first pre order).
When this Apple suing HTC thing came up and the E4GLTE was
delayed indefinitely? I wanted to go out and smash every Iphone I could see,
I wanted to fly to California to burn down Apples headquarters so badly!
Watching youtube videos with all these tech sites featuring the beta version of the E4GLTE
made me suffer beyond belief.

Yes patience is a virtue but...
In this age of technology,Quad core processors, broadband, email, fast cars, fast food, fast chicks.
The word waiting should be thrown out of our vocabulary.

But, I will say this once your SSGS#3 is in your possession?
your wife, girlfriend, kids will will have competition for who is priority
for a couple of days at least?
You will forget really fast how mad you were...

Trust me

I was there too;)

Sorry I rubbed you the wrong way, but you are literally acting like my 4 year old son. He can't stand that we don't leave for vacation for another week and has been doing everything from pouting to changing the date on his little magnetic calendar to try and force it to come sooner.

I see similar acting out in this thread.

I'm probably rubbing you the wrong way now.

But seriously, you're still going on making justifications, claiming people are in one camp or another. News flash, there's two camps, but not based on your theories. There's those that have their GS3s already and then there's us VZW customers. Just deal with it without going on and on pshyco-analyzing it. Or dreaming up endless conspiracy theories like is rampant on these boards.

If no one has learned anything from vzw. They ALWAYS wait until the end. Q2 for razr ics? It will be updated the last day. A new phone to be released during a quarter? Its ALWAYS the last day. These phones will ship a day or two prior to the 9th

Completely agree... Verizon isn't afraid to use up all available time to get things out. I was amazed they even gave a ship by date at all.

I don't have problem waiting for a phone when it's delayed for legitimate reasons. I have a problem waiting for a delay due to bloatware or carrier greed. Verizon's CEO originally stated shared data plans would be out mid summer. That's straight from the top of the companys food chain. I am not stupid enough to believe the change from mid summer to June 28th is just coincidental. I am sure Verizon took into account Best Buys release date as well as the 15 day return/exchange policy on new devices. It's funny, Verizon can roll out its Shared Screw Our Customers Over Plan months early but they can't release a device on time with the rest of the US carriers?

Verizon: Putting corporate greed ahead of its customers.

Edit: I said this week's ago on several forums many weeks ago, but because it's still widely being ignored: If you are on Verizon and want to keep unlimited, your only option is to preorder directly from Verizon before 11pm EST June 27th. If you have ordered the device anywhere else, for example Best Buy or Costco, regardless of the misinformation you have been given, you will loose unlimited. Best Buy has know about this for weeks and still refuse to tell their current preorders, but at least now the reps in the store if questioned directly about this phone and unlimited data are informing customers correctly.

I am so sick of corporate greed and hope these greedy executives die in a fire.

I dont get the feeling that the "sorry" was very genuine. Maybe you should try again.

Good to see you don't have a problem with the VZW release of the SGS3, as VZW has yet to miss any "time" related deadlines, to which they have committed.

Without "corporate greed" you wouldn't have had an unlimited data plan the past few years, or one to hold onto for a few more years. The only reason they ever offered it, was to compete with other carriers and hopefully convince customers to leave their competitors and join vzw. In fact without corporate greed, otherwise known as "motivated to earn money" we probably would not have smart phones... or cell phones... or electronic devices... or most of our jobs... even my taxpayer supported public sector job. So I will have to disagree with you on that point. But at least we agree that we don't have a problem that there is no delay of the VZW SGS3!

LOL. My brother-in-law taught me a useful strategy for dealing with such moments... usually when I'm on the verge of shouting, waiting for wives/kids to finally get ready and get the h out of the house when we're supposed to be going somewhere, but I think it works well in this case as well: Feeling Impatient? Crack open a beer (or, more appropriately for this specific moment, pour myself a dram of nice Scotch), and sit outside on the porch/patio/grass/lawnchair. Instantly, you're relaxing, hoping no one will hurry along too quickly. Problem solved no longer a problem at all.

I pre-ordered my SGS3 on the 9th of June and was told to expect delivery on of before the 10th of July. Now when I talk to someone at Verizon CS they are telling me to expect delivery on or before the 10th of July. WTF? I cannot believe that they actually expect me to wait the amount of time that I was originally told I would need to wait. The audacity of these people!!! Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings toward them. (Tongue now removed from cheek)

Amen to that brother ;) Thank GOD for beer and patios

Actually I really am sorry. I wish we could all get our phones sooner. I wish I had it to play with on vacation, myself. But I'm not about to claim that VZW has done anything dishonest or wrong.

I'm sorry that people can't just accept facts and move on. VZW was completely upfront with all of us about the July 9th date when we all pre-ordered, yet so many people here intentionally chose to disillusion themselves by reading into the word "by," or theorizing about the legal delays from a potential apple embargo. We all knew we could get the phone a week or two sooner by getting it from the other guys, but we didn?t because we want to stay on VZW?s network.

Stop trying to have your cake and eat it too. VZW always takes a long time to release their phones. It isn?t new and it doesn?t look to be changing anytime soon.

You may read this as all just more sarcastic retorting, but it isn?t. At the expense of getting on the soap box, I really, truly am sorry that so many people don?t have the maturity and self-restraint to wait a week or two for a new gadget.
