Angry Rezound users are banning together!

I have been a lot of reading on the articles on the Rezound ICS issue and I keep coming across a very popular theme. Rezound users are filing complaints finally with the FCC and the BBB. It appears that enough is enough finally and users are doing something about it. Those who have filed with the FCC/BBB are pushing for other users to do the same thing. The goal here is to let Verizon know we won't be silenced and want to be heard.

I know I have read others say that, those who do this, are simply looking for a free hand out. I disagree. I think we as the user and consumer, need to ban together and let big business know. We simply won't be pushed around any longer.

Verizon, by law, did indeed make a contract with us that ICS would be available a few months ago. This was a strong selling point and it was misleading.

While I don't expect any huge change to coming about, something should be done our end to let Verizon know we aren't happy.

I'm going to file a complaint with Uncle Guido if the Rezound doesn't get Jelly Bean. Plan the funerals.

(not really; I expect to be neglected by HTC & Verizon)

If the update is suppose to happen in the next day or 2 then Verizon should have an actual date that they can post. If they don't know then the should be held accountable for the delay for misleading, false advertising, and neglect. No phone should be this hard to update especially when advertised as "ics ready" or take this long. I think Verizon just left this phone in the back and made their priority on the "not so great as they make it sound" Razr. This is a flagship phone... They should be promoting this phone just as much as the razr and nexus.

Define "timely". The lack of Rezound ics is starting to become an internet meme.

Why does expressing one's frustration have to be griping? Why are you giving those of us who are unhappy and expressing it,such a negative label?

Because it happens in every phones forum, except the gsm nexus phones. History says you will never get a timely update, and in the rezound you picked a phone that neither HTC or Verizon wanted. The last crappy looking HTC phone before the one series. Mind you I love the phone, but my old desire is way better looking.

Reserved for negative words.

I don't get how they could hate this phone. I love it! I find it to be the idea phone (minus the awful battery life). Over the Thunderbolt, the Rezound is just perfection.

I just found it to be a great thing, that consumers are standing up for what they believe in, instead of being pacified.

Shouldn't it be "banding together" as in "to form a coalition," not "ban" as in "to stop or prohibit?"

Unless you want to try Verizon from being such a collection of douches and get us our upgrade.

Good luck with that!

I seriously wish you a lot of luck but think you're wasting your time and energy. They will roll it out when they roll it out and not a moment sooner. They don't speak, they do ... and only when they are good and ready. No amount of whining, crying, ing, complaining, threatening to take your biz elsewhere or anything else short of EVERYONE on their service going elsewhere all at one time is going to change this. We know that's not going to happen and so do they.

They have us by the dingle berries and they know it. I should have learned this when I was waiting for the BlackBerry Torch and didn't. I had to put myself through the torture all over again of waiting for the Thunderbolt before I stopped driving myself crazy.

I finally decided my blood pressure didn't need the rise and I can't make it happen any faster so I just wait for phones and upgrades now.

The problem is that only about .00001% of verizon customers even know or care that their phones can be updated. I am sure V finds it very easy to ignore the small band of uber-nerds who care about ICS no matter how loudly we howl.

Since the Rezound is such a solid performer as it is, rolling out an update must be way down on big V's priority list. Paradoxically, if the Rezound were costing lots of customer support time because of bugs that could be corrected with an update we would have seen ICS may months ago.

Maybe we should all start calling the help desk daily to ask about when the update will roll out! At least that will give us something to do while we wait for the ICS glacier to reach us.

GSM Nexus owners are the only one who should expect updates on a timely basis. All these gripe threads make me nuts, sorry.

That is not really true. Verizon DID use the ICS update early 2012 as a selling tool. I certainly do agree that there is a valid expectation among Rezound users.

It would be like buying a new computer that has a free update to Windows 8. Only you are never given the update yet it was sold with the promise of an update. Wouldn't that by classified as false advertising? The REZOUND update is no different as both examples are used to attract sales.

At this point, Verizon did lie. My personal feeling is that yes, it is false advertising. We all saw the web page with the information that stated that ICS would be available in early 2012.

It's an angry mob......run! ;-)

But more seriously, when it begins to grate on you like this, it's time to run the leak. But it will just be your luck that the ota will apear a day or two later. :(

I would agree, but what phone has ever gotten its upgrade when it was supposed to? It took the sprint nexus S 6 months to get its upgrade. The Verizon galaxy nexus was 3 months late. And these are nexus phones. If the rezound would have sold as many units as the galaxy so 2, then maybe our upgrade would have been sooner, but no phone has been that popular.
