Apparently there is another Nationwide Verizon 4G outage. Same as previous ones; no 4G coverage and does not auto-drop into 3G.

Seriously, gonna call and b*tch my ass off this time for a full month's data refund.

Mine was out for 4 hours today. Doing the math (i.e. at $30/mo), I figure they owe me $0.17 for this outage. I'm sure they'll credit your account. But I think that I'll let it go :) .

The first time, I let it go. The second time I let it go. Not three times in a month.

And no, it's not pro-rated. Like cable its a service that's expected to be always on.

well for one thing, you could be nice to them when you call. How would you like a customer yelling and being rude to you if you were on the receiving end of that phone call or having a customer like that face to face yelling at you? I am sure you wouldn't like it.
So, take it from someone who has been in retail for many years and who is a manager, you will certainly be respected when speaking to someone if you are polite when you are telling them your issues.
I can't tolerate people who are rude. It isn't the FAULT of the customer care rep you are talking to about your issues. It is an issue that is out of their control. SO don't let them be your WHIPPING STICK. But I have a a feeling what I have said here won't matter to you anyways. I do suggest you read this post and think about what you are going to say.
If you still have 3G why can't you be grateful for that? You have internet and you have data. I don't live in a 4G area and I do have the 3G service. I am glad for it. I still can do everything on my phone.
They haven't perfected the 4G and it is still a work in progress on getting it up and running. Like anything else, there are going to be glitches. You get a flat tire........do you get mad at your mechanic over it? Why take it out on them when they have no control over the issue?
Just think about it. I know there are many people on Android Central who will agree with me.
I am really tired of seeing people being yelled at for something they have no control over. We need to be nicer to people and just be kinder.

I agree with you but he feels entitled at this point and I'm sure he'll still have a fit, just like he stated he would. My thoughts go to the poor CS (ie a real person) that has to deal with him.

I know and he is most likely the type of person who feels entitled all the time.

I returned my Galaxy Nexus tonight - this 4G network isn't ready yet.

I'll use my wife's old Fascinate for another couple of months and then hopefully they will have gotten their network to the point that it's usable.

I am going to try to go to a 3G phone by swapping the second line. Right now I cannot get ANY data connection even if I switch to CDMA mode. I am sorry I ever got a 4G phone. If I can't do that then I will investigate going to another carrier. I have been with Verizon since they were with Airtouch.

If my internet or cable television doesn't work, I kindly ask for a refund. If the data on my phone is out, it really depends if its for a long period of time or not. I was out shopping and wanted to access the score to the Blackhawks game, but couldn't do it because of the outage. However, over something so little and for the amount of down time, I am going to give Verizon a pass. The fun part about tonight is my friend and I both have a RAZR and we were in the same place. We were grabbing data at different times and at times we both had it but i had 4G and she had 3G. LOL

I have had a 4G signal 99% of the time and I bought the Thunderbolt on release day. I would say 4G is ready for prime time, in my locale anyways.

Edit, sorry for the double post.

I think that's part of the problem - while 4G may be great in your area, it's not in my area.

We pay a premium for Verizon's network. If I have to use a 3G device for the next year until 4G is more mature and usable here in my area, that's ok.

Customer service was very helpful, they gave me a credit of $35.00 to offset the restocking fee when I returned the Nexus.

The rep said that she didn't know when the 4G network would be ready or usable and that she personally was going to stay with a 3G device until things settled down and were more stable.

Why are you assuming I would be anything but polite? I can certainly b*tch politely. It's a simple matter of "Hey, I paid you for this service this month and you did not provide it so I would like a refund for that service for the month." Pretty simple and straightforward.
