I have been scouring the the forums looking for feedback on email apps. I am not a super user of email, but soon my employer will start to let us put email on our own devices and ditch the BB. I currently have 2 email accounts set up. I have a Gmail and an iCloud account. Gmail is my primary. I tried the stock app, but didn't like the way it worked.
Then I tried the Gmail app, but I couldn't get my iCloud emails unless I forwarded them, which I didn't want to do as I like them separate on my computer. Plus, deleted emails continued to show up although they were tagged as deleted. If I delete something I really don't want to see it anymore.
I tried K9, besides being ugly, it didn't do a good job of syncing, leaving deleted emails on my computer.
Along came Inomail, which isn't bad and is probably my second choice at this point. Enhanced Email -EE - (trial, thank goodness) left my inboxes a mess. Push did not work as advertised and syncing back and forth was poor at best, leaving both my computer and phone inboxes a disaster.
At this point I am getting frustrated, but resigned to not be completely satisfied with email on my beautiful new phone. Finally I read some positive feedback on Aquamail and gave it a try. THIS IS THE ONE for me! It works and acts exactly how I expect it to act. It has a tremendous, almost daunting amount of choices within the set up screens. I was able to configure it to do exactly what I wanted. Gmail push in real time, iCloud on a less frequent fetch. Syncing is great and my inboxes on both devices are clean. All by sub-folders within Gmail can be brought in and set up individually. Some need to be push and some not so much.
For any of you searching high and low for a great email app give Aquamail a try. I am very happy another poster mentioned it. Thanks!
