Any Ex Sprint Customers Here?

I switched from Sprint to AT&T the day after Christmas and service has been great, sprint data speeds were horrible

See that's the thing, their speeds. What is the point of unlimited dat when its so slow? If only Sprint was a GSM carrier then they could utilize HSPA+. But I bet ya anything if they were they wouldn't have unlimited data.

I'm switching to AT&T from sprint. I currently live in a wimax area so my current data speed is acceptable, but if I were to get the S3 on Sprint I'd be going back to their 3G network full-time and that is unacceptable.

Had been with Sprint for over 10 years. Customer service was always excellent, monthly package price was a pretty good deal (unlimited everything), and the gold member perks (ie. yearly phone upgrades) were great until the Iphone came on board. Now with all those perks having been taken away and the data speeds consistently sucking hind t*t, there's nothing left to keep me loyal. Jumped the Sprint ship and now with AT&T. Non-LTE speeds with AT&T are still over 3 x times faster than anything I could ever get with Sprint 3G in my local area. Glad I paid the ETF, sold my Galaxy SII thru ebay buyback, and went with the Galaxy SIII.:D Lost my number, but regardless....I'm willing to sacrifice some customer service (hell i only deal with them once or twice a year) and pay a few extra bucks a month to be able to utilize my full data plan. Couldn't be happier!

I'm currently on Sprint but I won't be much longer. Just waiting for my AT&T store to get the S3 in and the first one that shows up is mine. (One of my best friends works there and he is going to hold it for me). Like everyone else has already said, Sprint's netowrk is absolute garbage. I have been paying an extra $10 fee because I have a 4G phone but I have never been able to use 4G on it unless it was during a layover at an airport. When I bought the phone 18 months ago I was told I would have local 4G service in 3 months. Yeah, right.

I decided I am going to AT&T because I don't loke how VZW's answer to anything you aks them is, "we have the biggest and best network of any carrier." Well that's great and all but why do you not discount the entire bill for qualified people? Why are you holding back phones so you can make everyone go to your new pricing? Why are your plans only free VZW to VZW mobile minutes? They have the highest prices and offer the least amount of services.

There is much to be desried with all the carriers, but for me AT&T seems to be the best best solution.

I just got off Sprint this month. 7 out of 8 years were pretty good. I was on the Sero $30 for most of those years with a Smartphone, so what was not to like. Customer Service was always great for me, I think Sero accounts were handled by business CSRs and not the standard CSRs that normal consumers got. That last year, Sprint got me on the Sero Premium plan and the Network went to hell, < 100kps downloads. At $30/month, I will excuse a slow network but at $50+/month, there are better options.

I ported my number to GV and am currently in limbo and playing with some ideas with prepaid. I'm currently waiting on a dual sim adapter. The idea is to continue to use my unlimited ipad sim and skype for calls but to have a prepaid phone only sim for times when skype is not working. If that doesn't work out then I will try Straight Talk or the Net10 unlimited plans.

On a side note, I was talking to a couple of ATT Gophone CSRs on the phone. Did I just get lucky or are the GoPhone CSRs better then the regular ATT CSRs. The experience was just so much better then when I dealt with ATT in the past.

Well I don't have sprint, but many of my co-workers do have it. In the past two months I have gone from t-Mobile to AT&T to Verizon (currently on), and I can tell you that I seriously regret leaving AT&T.

Here is the reasoning for each carrier:

Sprint:
As someone already mentioned it's a sinking ship. If you were to buy the EVO LTE of SG3, they charge you an additional $10 a month for the use of LTE (which does not exist).

Yes they are cheap and unlimited....but at speeds of 0.4Mbps down....you will never reach even a 2 or 3GB plan.

T-Mobile:
I had a similar situation as sprint....great price, but unreliable network (at best). Every time I entered a building, any building/store, I was lucky to make a phone call.....and you could forget about data.

Verizon:
Proces are high yes....but You do get great service. I have no issues with phone or data service, provided I am outside my office building (and in particular, my office). While I am at the office I get nothing, and this is primarily the reason why I want to return to AT&T. Overall VZW is a great network. If you don't live in a mayor city, chances are you will get great signal with VZW.

AT&T:
For it's great....I really like the 4 tier network they have, where if LTE is not present, you fall back to HSPA+ network. LTE is not official here in South Florida, and I was getting an average 4-6mbps down just about everywhere I went. in the areas where LTW was present (testing) I could get 20-21 mbps down.

Over all AT&T and VZW have the best networks available right now. Down the road say a year or two Sprint and T-Mobile might be up to snuff, you can always switch back to them, but I doubt that they will catch up to VZW or AT&T any time soon.

My choice is AT&T, and right now I am trying to find a way back to them without having to pay penalties and/or fees.

Talk to friends in your area on other networks and see what they say.

Soon to be ex-Sprint customer here! I wasn't planning on buying a new phone especially since I just got my E4GT in October which means that I'm not due for an upgrade for a while. However, I went to the Samsung event in Philadelphia and was immediately sold. I got my $550 together, then I found out that it was 4G LTE which isn't even available yet and Philly isn't on the list of cities who will receive it first, so I started looking at my other options. Verizon is great in Philly but it would cost me and arm and a leg compared to the $86/mo. that I'm currently spending on Sprint even with my employer discount. Then Ai looked into At&t, most of my family member's have iphones and share a plan so I could just jump on the family plan and my share would be less than what I'm paying on sprint and I would be eligible for the discounts and the phone would only cost me $200. The cost to cancel my sprint contract would be $300 beginning in July, so the decision was a no brainer. I could stick with Sprint and spend $550 for the phone with 3g service or spend $500 and switch to At&t with 4G LTE!

I ordered my SGIII on Thursday!

No to every point I made?

I see you've gone flaccid for Sprint, and so have your arguments. No carrier has "4g" everywhere. Study the maps from the previous post.

No, no, no. You don't want Sprint even if your in a metropolitan area with LTE. Their LTE will be nowhere as fast as Verizon's or AT&T's and the second you step out of that city you'll be on their garbage dial up network.
