Any faith left for sprint

Does this have anything to do with the band 26 (800) testing sites? The radio in 4.4.3 exaggerated the behavior of kicking band 25 (1900) connections off or down to 3g if band 26 is not yet officially deployed. Turning off band 26 seems to fix this
behavior.

You mean, setting it's priority to 0?

So, any Sprinters update to 4.4.3 and notice any difference in speeds?

I haven't gotten it yet.

In regards to Clear's 2.5 ghz spectrum, obviously it's no where as ideal as the lower 700 mhz spectrum tmobile acquired. 2.5 ghz is awful, poor building penetration. The only good thing is it provides exceptional performance.... if you can get it.

Even aws isn't bad... At 108dbm,i can still get 78mbps...and this is only with 2 transmit antennas.

Does she have her mobile data on? Or does she have a good mobile signal where she is at? Sounds like it's something with that since texts (SMS) go through but not picture (MMS).

Her Mobile data is on.... It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen... Just last week I was out with our daughter shopping and sent her a picture of a dress she was trying on and she never replied back... I got home and asked and she never got the picture.. Showed sent on my end but she never received it..... Wasn't like it was a picture of something I asked her to stop and get on the way home and she deleted it like "oh I didn't stop because I never got it.... Yeah that..."

and I've had her send me something and then ask and I didn't get it and then she shows me the picture on her phone and then two days later it shows up.... Didn't happen often but it did happen from time to time... I've only been on T-Mobile a month now and was with Sprint for 17 years so I couldn't really say it's a Sprint issue....

I think Sprint should focus more on their backhaul than on radio first. Some of the towers near me, when I was on Sprint were so congested during peak hours. You can easily tell that their backhaul was really congested.

The back haul is a major issue... I know like at my work when I was on Sprint at 6 am I had decent speeds.. by 9 am it was worthless in this industrial complex..... but Sprint's LTE (and WiMax before it) coverage is very spotty.... I've lived here in Dallas almost 3 years and was in Nashville, TN for 4 years before coming here.... I still travel back to Nashville and to Raleigh, NC where my parents live... It amazes me how with Sprint their coverage has been similar everywhere I've gone.... You can get a strong LTE signal and walk a block over in the heart of a major city and drop to 3G or 1X..... I had that issue in Nashville... Here in Dallas... Fort Worth when we went to Austin and San Antonio and when I go home to Raleigh, NC.....

They need to upgrade and get better pure saturation with their towers and antenna's and they need to work on the back haul to handle increased traffic.... The WiMax debacle probably set them back easily 5 years... There is no telling how far back the Nextel merger set them back.... I was super optimistic the Softbank deal was going to propel them forward and nothing really changed (I know it hasn't been that long)

The funny thing is when Sprint (or should I say Clear) first started launching their wimax network, Dan Hesse said it would be easy peasy and a flick of switch to change that to LTE....

We can sit behind a keyboard and debate for days, weeks and months....

Back at the main topic at hand, is there ANY faith left for Sprint?

Absolutely. I drive all day, and I was live streaming an E3 presentation for 90 minutes in High....and since I was driving, I was just mainly listening except for when I would stop. My stream stuttered twice during the whole 90 min then continued perfectly.
Once the steam was over, out of nowhere, I just decided to do a random speed test and I pulled 33+Mbps.....that's OK, but never with 2-3 bars...so to make this story short, I kept on driving and doing speed tests and I was nothing short of amazed. Pulling constantly 20+ megs on 0 bars, to 60megs on 3 bars. Idk what's going on today, or maybe I just hadn't check lol, but is there any faith left for Sprint? Yes there is!

I still have faith they can turn things around and be a great company... But the wonders of a free market society and unlocked phones... After 17 years I just decided to make a move to another network that works great where I live, work and play...

I use to travel for a living and Sprint was spotty (when it came to Data network/speed... Phone call coverage was always pretty darn good) My territory was TN, KY and everything north of Birmingham in Alabama.... Plus I am from North Carolina and always drove straight down I-40 to Raleigh from Nashville.... Plus our corporate office is here in Dallas (where I live now) and their network (Again as far as Data/speed) was always spotty across 5 different states I traveled to often...

I am truly shocked at how great the Sprint service seems to be down in Miami... I've been here in Dallas for 3 years and going from Downtown Dallas to Downtown Fort Worth and all the places in between..... Sprint is extremely spotty for LTE coverage...

My wife still has her Sprint phone and I'd have no problem going back if they get their back haul and LTE saturation greatly improved across Dallas... right now I can't even go to either of the 3 big malls in Grapevine, Lewisville or up in Plano and get any LTE coverage with Sprint...... and that is a big deal when I have to follow a wife and two daughters around as they shop on a Saturday... No data in that situation was punishing....

LOL!!!!!

Of course there's faith in Sprint. they're sitting on an assload of spectrum right now.

But really, none of that matters until they employ a fiber optic backhaul, which can take years.

Seriously though, with all that spectrum Sprint has, we can all be settled with LTE home modems with top notch latency and download/upload speeds. But first things first, fiber optic backhaul. None of this microwave/T1 bull**** Sprint's been beating around the bush with for the last couple of years.

But also, Sprint and verizon need to get off their asses. No one wants lockdown carrier bloated phones anymore. Nexus/GPE all the way. Screw the middle man for updates, you're never going to get them.

I've gone through the OG HTC evo, Samsung epic, motorola photon, and the samsung galaxy nexus all of which Sprint and the manufacturer decided to give me the finger and say "oh well, are you interested in signing a new contract and get X phone for Y dollars?" Hell no.

Lol that's funny.
Btw, I was in TN back in February, and going from Miami to TN, I had LTE 80-90% of the time. In TN only my wife had LTE because the towers weren't upgraded yet to Tri-Band, so I was stuck on 3G for a good while on my Nexus 5. But overall, a positive experience and I was very surprised too.

No complaints here with sprint. Speeds are as good if not better than the competition. I pay 25 bucks a month on a family plan and insurance is 11.00 equipment is 20.00 for under 75.00 a month after tax and great speeds

Ttwiitch ,

Man if I got speeds like that I never would of thought about leaving sprint. But come to my city and you wouldn't be praising sprint that much.

I'll probably die before sprint has speeds like that in my city.

LOL I feel u man.... I've had Sprint for 4 years and it was BAD. I did enjoy some wimax but then I was stuck with 3G with my S3 for months waiting for LTE. The real bad 3G while also bearing with NV upgrades. Now, I'm reaping the wait and sacrifice ;-) and so much moreee and unlimited.

.....for the slowest Network in the US, with only 2 bars of signal strength, at peak time.....not to shabby ;-)
