Any other way to wake screen besides using power button?

Title says it all. Anything mechanical is only going to operate the way it was intended for so long. It seems that having to use the power button to wake the screen is just putting undue stress on the power button and asking to wear it out before its time.

TIA!

I installed nolock, and whether you have in enabled or disabled you can use the volume buttons to wake the screen. I also have go sms set to wake the screen when I get a text.

Ah, you bring up another point that I had forgotten about but wanted to ask about... waking the screen when a text is received. Is this not something that can be accomplished with the stock SMS app?

Not that I have found, or I would probably still be using it. :/

You are correct.

HTC doees this on purpose to conserve battery on these heavy power consumption devices.

Imagine this....

-You have your screen set to stay awake for 10 minutes at a time unless manually triggered off by power button.

Then, you go to sleep, have your phone on silent. You get a slew of 6 messages, about 15 minutes apart.

Your phone will have stayed on for an HOUR from text messages you didnt check. -

So even though HTC made this decision for us, they did it with our interests in mind...
