The phone battery has died. When I plug it in, it says that I have moisture in the battery port. But it won't charge. I've tried everything. The only thing I can think of is that I should change the battery to a full one. So I can reset the phone, to start over.

Other than buying a wireless charging pad, I'm not sure. Just an idea, but this will cost you money of course.

If you put the phone on a Wireless charger it should start to charge immediately.

That warning error appears when the phone was water exposed to and some minutes or hours after it should disappear and you'll be able to charge your phone by wire

Good luck 🤞

if there is enough power to turn on the phone you can plug in the cable just as it starts boot up and it will bypass the moisture error and do regular slow charge.

How long have you had the Note 8? It very well may be under warranty. I used to have TMobile and received a free replacement because Samsung admitted it was a known issue - my phone hadn't gotten wet except for an occational sprinkle while walking dogs, riding bike, etc. Definitely look into it if you're within a year's time / whatever the MFG warranty is (1 or 2 yrs I can't recall).

Thank you Gentlemen. The wireless charger works great. I tried to plug it in while it was booting, but it didn't work. So I'm thinking that I might perform a Samsung reset. Not an Android reset, because I believe that it's not an Android problem.

go to Settings > Apps > press three vertical dots in top right corner > Show system apps > USB settings, clear Storage cache and restart phone. This is the best solution I've found thus far, though the issue does return every now and then.

Are you getting this all the time, no matter where you are charging? Or does it happen only happen while in a vehicle?

Reason I ask is because while visiting my sister in TX earlier this summer, I'd get that message quite often while driving in my car, but nowhere else. My dash mount places the bottom of my phone really close to one of the ac vents and I believe that because I was running my ac constantly and at its coldest possible temp (because TX is effing hot) there was just enough moisture buildup in the charging port to set it off.

I've never gotten that message before or since that TX trip and it was only in my vehicle. So if you're trying to charge close to a cold air source, maybe that's your issue.

I get that message with certain chargers. Has been that way since new. I just don't use those chargers.

This is bull**** though. It's a water resistant phone up to 3m yet U can't use it when it gets a small splash of water on it. Surely it's a Warrenty issue?

Yes. But you can't plug or charge your phone right away you have to wait til all the moisture is dried up otherwise you can cause a short in the phone its water resistant but not water proof. No phone is

No other water proof phones do this. My previous waterproof Samsung's didn't do this. And I've taken them right under water.

There are no waterproof phones, only water resistant. And I suspect if you read their warranty info, water related damage is not covered.

This worked on my wife's S7E when she had this problem. That was a coupler months ago, and it thankfully hasn't happened again.
