Any way to fix home screen lag?

I have experienced this on my S3 as well but i have the international version. I would think that the U.S version would not have to use LMK feature with 2 gb RAM. Therefore it could keep the home screen in memory for quick access. It usually occurs when i press the back button several times. Hopefully its just a glitch in software where the RAM doesn't keep the home screen in memory and Sammy take this into consideration and fix it in a software update. In my experiences some phones contain these small errors and the phone runs at optimal speed after the first batch of patches. Or it could be a glitch in Touchwiz UX Nature.

I've found an option in the Advanced Settings of Apex Launcher to keep the app in RAM to avoid home screen redraw delays. I've just enabled it today and will see if that helps/alleviates the problem. My device is the International version as well.

Is this the problem you were having?

I have this problem too,and S-voice is off. Why on Earth this happens with 2 gigs of Ram just utterly baffles me. Apex launcher doesn't fix. Fully updated ad well. Be interested to hear some suggestions.

@imneveral0ne: nope not that problem which is easily corrected/changed as show in the video (although that's useful tip). The issue that some of us are having is that after it goes to the homescreen it's completely blank for me (just the wallpaper's showing) and you actually see the widgets redrawing or in the case of the calendar widget for me it show several lines with "loading..." for each event that should be showing up.

I have the same issue. I have few widgets on the screen. I agree it has to do with the home screen not being kept on memory. Hopefully CM9 will come soon ;-)

Kidda! Ok i removed the widget, restarted the phone and re-added the widget and now im only getting a slight lag when i clear the ram and press the home key straight away. Otherwise it works fine now.

I just got rid of the weather widget completely... takes up too much space on the screen anyway...

People, he's talking about redraw. When he leaves and app and goes to the home screen it reloads everything. This is called redraw and is usually from touchwiz. Try using nova or apex launcher.

It's a replacement homescreen. So it changes the way your homescreen, dock bar, application menu, look & work. It lets you customize things the stock launcher doesnt. As an added benefit (and why people are talking about it here) it may perform better and be less likely to 'redraw' or 'lag' than the stock launcher.

Not sure if you've found a solution... but i was experiencing the same thing on my galaxy note. What might work for you as it has most surely worked for me was a simple unchecking of a box: go to... settings -> developer options -> do not keep activities (make sure this box is unchecked. That should work if you have the same problem. Hopefully. Good luck.

whats up guys. just got my phones its amazing and so crazy fast. the only thing that is bumming me out is the lag when i go back to my home screen. I hate seeing everything i have my home screen slowly load up, reminds me of my note. Any way to fix this??
