anybody jumping to the new note 8?

Yeah, the deal Samsung Direct was offering was too good to pass up: free accessories and $300 off with the trade in of my trusty G4. The V30 just lacked too many of the features that made the LG brand stand apart from everyone else and it wasn't much of an upgrade over my 20 to justify the cost IMHO. But even with the Note 8 on board, my V20 still remains my daily driver.
