Anybody know if Swype works on incredible

How in the world do u get this thing to work? I download the file and install.....now what? Also, I previously also downloaded a non market Google earth app (I currently have the one from the market now) and it still shows on my download history, does that take up space even though I had deleted it already?

You have to take the tutorial (or at least start it) and then activate Swype in two places: once on the settings> keyboard screen and then go to an input screen, hold it for a second, and you should get a popup asking which input method you want.

I got it working on mine first try. Just make sure you do like they said, in the keyboard settings you enable swype, and then go into say... messages application and where you would click to start typing, that box that says compose message here... hold your finger there for a little while and a box comes up, then you need to select swype and it will work from there. You will know if its activated or not because the keyboard changes to a blue keyboard.

I have Swype now thanks to this thread and I am getting used to it but there are a few things that are part of the "learning curve" for me:

1. I am not as fast as the normal keyboard because I am used to space, it is hard to get mysef to keep going, for now I amtrying to overcome that urge to pause between words.
2. Trust-the program works well and is very intuitive but I dont trust it and it does not like you to pause. I tend to second guess it and pause.

I think that after a few days it will become more comfortable.

Does anyone else find the landscape swype keyboard useless? it just makes the letters farther apart and I can not think of a way that you could 2 finger swype anyway.

i have been Swyping now for about 2 weeks and love it. it is one of my main show-offs on my phone. people are always like "get the hell outta here!" i love being a Swyper!!

I saw swype on a friend's motorola Droid. knowing it would be available as an alternative to the standard virtual keyboard is the only reason I went ahead and purchased the Incredible. I'd sworn I'd always use a phone with a hardware keyboard.
I'm still amazed at how accurate swype is.
