Anybody know if Swype works on incredible

thank you all for your help, but yes, I did all of the above. the only thing I did different was to use the "back"arrow at the end of the tutorial instead of pressing the "done" button, and that worked. I GOT IT BACK!
this phone really is incredible. Now, since y'all are so helpful, does anyone know if we can have different alerts for different notifications, i.e one for sms, a diff for email, another for facebook, etc?

If you just start swyping the next work it automatically adds the space.

SlideIT, Swype, ShapeWriter, etc

Does anyone know a list of the quality "swype-style" keyboards? Is it simply:

• ShapeWriter
• SlideIT
• Swype

I can't seem to find a beta Swype to try on the Incredible, and ShapeWriter had issues with locking up my messaging. SlideIT is nice but the 5.99 Euro is slightly annoying for phone apps, to me at least. I may break down and buy it sometime though.

After using SlideIT Lite, I can hardly use normal texting now.

Are there any other good ones out there? Is there any hint when Swype will be available?

Instead of swype... why not hit the microphone key and use the voice-to-text feature? It works great!

Ever try the voice-to-text feature? (microphone on keyboard) It works surprisingly well. But if you prefer typing and swyping.... then please continue.

voice-to-text is already on your phone. When the keyboard comes up, hit the microphone and speak.

There's a link under the second post on that page. Just copy it to the SD card and then use Astro or some other file manager to open it up and install. Then you go into the keyboard settings menu and check the box for Swype. To activate it you have to long-press any text box and select the Swype keyboard.

I found a great looking modified version of Swype for the Incredible, it matches up with the red and black theme.

I have had some fun learning the basics of using it. Its like playing a game and each time I don't get a word quite right I feel like I am losing points.

You only get the Speech to Text option from the Menu while in SMS messaging/Handcent.

Then I must be missing it because I was in a text message when I was looking for it - I hit menu and get - All Messages, Quick Text, New, Attach, Delete and More - under More I get Add Subject and Insert Smiley

My bad... the Speak option only seems to show up while in Handcent, not in the stock Messaging app.

How can I erase a word from the dictionary? I know you are supposed to be able to highlight the word, then hit the swype button to access the dictionary...but this isn't happening. I hit the swype button and all it does is bring up other word choices.

The word (if it's even that) is "didi" and I have no idea why it's in there to begin with.
