Anyone dislike their S3?

I always thought swiping keyboards were a gimmick (I've only used Swiftkey 3 so far) but I just downloaded the Swype Beta (after reading about it in this thread) and trying it out now and this thing actually works (even with Arabic)! Will see how I do with it over the next couple of days but I'm already loving the swype gesture shortcuts for select all, copy, paste, etc.

LOL...once you get really used to swyping, it's very hard to switch to something else. Although, I do really love the prediction in SwiftKey 3.

This phone is slight change from my captivate and I am liking it all except for the fact I cannot connect to a network that the SSID is not broadcasting. :(

Did you try adding a network, and and typing in the SSID? I that's what I did.

Ok folks I picked up a Galaxy S3 yesterday afternoon. So far it's ok, and I have a lot to learn about this phone. One of the major things I'm trying to figure out is how to transfer my itunes alerts & ring tones over via sdk memory card.

This phone is big though, so but I guess I'll just get use to it, but seeing I've used the iPhone for a number of years. The screen is nice, but but I find that a lot of content isn't formatted to take advantage of it. The penile display is noticeably different from the retina display (the retina display is sharper). The keyboard will take you some getting used to as well. I I downloaded SwiftKey to remedy the virtual keyboard.

But I'm definitely loving AT&T's LTE speeds, this devices is truly blazing fast! Any suggestions, tips and tricks will be welcome, and thanks guys.

Does anybody know how to operate the cut, copy, and paste. Also is there an undo feature?

Very quick impressions.

- Touch wiz is the same. Just not up there. Not polished. Needs a major revamp.

- Build quality is okay, but leaves a lot to be desired.

- Screen quality takes some time getting used to coming from the One X.

The only reason I didn't get the HOX, is because of no expandable memory, and the GS3 has 2GB of RAM. I think Sense 4.0 is still a bit domineering, which also creates some of the lag users experienced using the device.

How about the cut, copy, and paste question though.

I've had the one x and now I have the s3 and I think the s3 screen is very good. Maybe a bit less but still way better then the very small retna screen. And the build quality is very good, yes its plastic but built very well. I've not heard of any falling apart. Everything in my house is plastic. I like touch wiz, ya not the greatest but good enough for me to where I'm not using a launcher. I like ui's more then stock , I feel like you get more then you do from stock. And I'm not talking about roms either that's cheating.

I agree with your statements to a certain degree. The HOX has the better screen and design. The GS3's screen does take some getting use to, especially coming from the Retina display. But overall I like the phone, but if I had an At&t stock Android phone with LTE capabilities, I would have went with that. LTE capabilities was a must have this time around.

Take a look at pg. 48 here:
Samsung GT-i9300 User Manual (International version)

Please note that the above manual is for the International version not your AT&T version so there might be some discrepancies. Strange thing is, I looked through the AT&T SGH-i747 phone manual and they hadn't included that. I also haven't found any way to Undo any text editing actions which I'd also like to know about coming from an iPhone so appreciate any input from others on this.

Love the phone but the virtual voicemail app keeps freezing constantly when I press on a persons picture to view their profile.

Also wifi has a hard time connecting today. tried 3 different places too.

One issue I have with the GS3, is wi-fi connection issues. Places where my idevices work, my GS3 want. But I can easily over look it, compared to how great the phone is. Can someone say, "Beast!"

...change your settings on your device for WIFI (advanced) from Auto, to 2.4GHZ. If that doesn't work well, and your WIFI router is new, i.e. from within the last year, then use the 5GHZ setting.

Lastly, reboot your router, too, especially if it hasn't been rebooted in a while. You may want to check for firmware updates for it, too.

Thanks for the tips. I purchased Apple's Airport Extreme Base station a few months back, which operates on both frequencies you mentioned. I haven't issues with wi-fi connections until I bought this device.

...still try the manual option, versus the auto option for connection. See if that helps.

I returned mine. I like the phone overall but in the end it didn't have features that apple has that I use on a daily basis. Examples are the ability to do group messaging and send MMS videos more than 12 seconds. I know there are other apps that couple help with these but it really is a pain to try and use multiple apps to do a simple task that iOS has done for awhile. I want to be able to point, shoot and send. Not have to go thru multiple steps. For me, its back to iPhone until android gets these items dealt with.

I am coming from iPhone also and I still love iPhone. I decided to give Android a try. I started with the Galaxy Note, I must say that the phone was awesome. I had to returned it. Using with exchange server, I had to charge the phone at least 3 times a day. That didn't cut it for me. I decided to go with S3. The phone is excellent. I got about the same battery usage as my iPhone 4 using exchange server. Yes, there are few things different and I had to relearn. In addition, I can do a lot more with Android where I couldn't with iPhone, at least not without rooting it. Anyway, the bottom line is I do like Android.
