Android Central Question

Note 8: I seem to experience push notification problems after each update is rolled out but after the latest update the notification problems for the first time are affecting native Android apps including the text messaging app and even my missed calls and voicemail notifications. And that is of course in addition to the typical notification problems that I'm having again with third-party apps most notably Microsoft teams and Edison email. I have done the standard restarts, reinstalled, deactivating optimized power selections, ... Any experiences, information on compatibilities, or solutions that anyone can share?

Unfortunately I'm not very fluid with the common names for the updates but the update was run on October 7th and the last few digits are software version 8DTI1. I hate to say that I would rather live with the situation in the push notifications then do the factory reset. Sometimes they seem to work out naturally when compatibility issues or taking care of on one side or the other. I appreciate the information and thank you for the reply

Ahh your OP ? Must of not been logged in .

You tried clearing cache in recovery?
Also make sure in device care nothing being put to sleep or deep sleep?

Re clearing the recovery cache, I thought that was only something to do as part of the reset. Can it be done generally? I have checked the Sleep settings and none of the affected apps that I care about are on the Sleep list and they shouldn't be apps that are ever dormant long enough to go into sleep mode. Should I try turning off auto sleep mode altogether or maybe adjusting to make it a longer length before Auto sleep just to test whether it makes a difference?

Yeah cache clear in recovery can be done anytime , as for sleeping apps you can disable for testing and also adaptive battery turn off
