Anyone going from a larger screen to this???

Yeah I'm going from the Nexus 6P to this. So a 0.5" drop in screen size.

Shouldn't be an issue. I've gone from Note phones to non-Note phones without issues in the transition.

I came from an LG G4 5.5'' to an A9 5.0'' , it was slightly hard the first days but I had no problems later on.
The only thing I missed was the usage with Google Cardboard v2 as the large screen + 1440p res was much better than the A9, though the 10 with its 0.2'' more and 1440p res will be perfect

I don't see myself having a problem at all, as long as the screen is nice. I have the s7 edge and had the s7 at first. I don't care too much about the bigger screen, as long as it's not like going from the note to the iPhone SE lol. I actually enjoyed the s7 more because I could fit it in my pocket easier and one handed use was much easier. I can't wait for the HTC 10. Gonna give it a go when it comes out for verizon and if I like it as much in person as I do looking at it online, hello HTC 10 and goodbye s7e

I might be. Depends on how this phone feels in hand when compared to the Nexus 6.

NEXUS 6 T-Mobile

I wouldn't be able to. I once went to the S6 and the loss of screen space caused me major issues. I have just grown way too used to 5.5+ screens. I prefer 5.7-6 but .. 5.5 is the lowest I want to go.

 I don't see how you guys do it. I'm a really tall guy and the M8 (which is the same size as the 10) is already a little clunky to carry around in jeans. I think it's odd to watch my friends awkwardly carry around 5.5"+ phones.
For women, it's no big thing to have a big phone in a purse but for guys it seems it it would be uncomfortable, especially with the trends shifting away from baggy pants in favor of more fitted clothing.
I definitely don't want anything larger than the 10.

This. I had a 6P for a while and I loved having a large phone as long as I didn't have to put it in my pocket. Unfortunately that isn't realistic and I sent it back for that reason. The only downside to the 10 is no AMOLED but I think I can survive.

I think there's a tendency in those of us who buy new tech to think "always go with the higher specs", but there comes a point at which it's counter-productive. There's plenty of times when I wish my phone was smaller. 5" to 5.2" is a good area for me as it's about as big as I can go without feeling completely awkward. I'd go smaller but this also allows for me to continue using desktop view in browsers, which is something I insist on.

Personally I think the sweet spot is 5.2-5.5...I loved my Xperia Z3's and LG G2's size, found my Galaxy S6 to be a touch too small. Finding my Nexus 6 to be a little difficult to deal with, being so big. I liked LG's Optimus G Pro and G3 sizes.

The nice thing is the 10 overall is about the same size as the M8 but they managed to get a little more screen real estate by getting rid of the HTC logo bar. So the screen goes from 5" to 5.15" without increasing the size of the phone.

5.5 to 5.2 shouldn't be too big a change. But depends what you do on, and expect from a smartphone.

I am also coming from a MXPE - am not really missing its bigger screen. While the MXPE is quite a good phone it has been a bit too big for me (I have petite hands), and 5.2" is turning out to be the sweet spot for me as far as the intersection of size and readability.

Honestly, screen quality is what I am most worried about at this point. It looks a bit dim from what I have seen in certain videos and hoping it doesn't disappoint. Considering I have been going back and forth with a Moto x pure, Nexus 6p and then to a oneplus x (it actually has an amazing screen), I am hoping it doesn't prove to be the worst of the lot.

Same here. I have an M8 and find it is the perfect size. Anything bigger would be like trying to jam a tablet in your pocket.

I've had massive phones. I had the galaxy mega 6.3 inch, and that fit comfortable in my pockets. I don't wear skinny jeans though

I've had phones from a 3.5 inch iphone 4 to 6.3 inch Galaxy Mega.

I find going to a much bigger phone seems overwhelming at first, but then you can fall in love with having that big screen. Playing games, watching movies, and seeing more when your web browsing is great. I have then found that anything smaller then looks too small.

On the other hand going from a big screen to a small screen, at first it can be disappointing having less screen estate, but then you start to enjoy having a device that is easier to handle.

Either way I find I get used of the size differences then appreciate the advantages of a smaller/bigger phone

I'm coming from a MXPE aswell. I have a feeling the difference won't be that big seeing as the bezzels on the MXPE are very small

My g4 is 5.5" and i measured the screen without where the onscreen buttons are and it's 5.1875", so it's the same as the 10. Sure when you're playing games or video they disappear but for browsing and such it will feel the same

I'm going from a 6s Plus to the 10. So I'm losing 0.4" of real estate. But I REALLY want a smaller phone with top of the line specs. It really came down to the S7 or the 10. And then that decision came down to the update process. I don't have any issue going to a smaller screen. I don't watch movies on my phone. I do watch some YouTube from time to time, but I doubt that little of a change will bother me. What I will love is actually being able to do something with my phone with one hand. This iPhone is the same size as the 6P.

I Have the G4 also and just so you know, you can eliminate the capacitive buttons on all screens. It does make it somewhat inconvenient though.

I agree with your point here, I am also hoping that the screen doesn't kill the deal for me. I will know sooner enough as soon as mine is delivered if it sucks then I would say after about a week of use I will be returning it. The screen and build are the two most important features to me for any phone. If those two are off point then I can care less about cameras, speakers, software that shizzle will be back in the mail in 10 secs flat.
