I really enjoy the Note 5. I'm at the point where I don't need to upgrade every six months. I used to get new phones twice a year. I just don't see the new tech being a must have at this point. Of course I don't know what the S7 will bring, but I seriously doubt I will dump the Note 5.
Agreed; for the most part most "imorovements" now are very incremental and for me negligible from a user's standpoint.
I can longer distinguish between what screen is better and most phones are faster than I am... LOL
I do like that many manufacturers are using higher end materials and experimenting with screen designs.
Then again I am a sucker for next (shiny) big thing!

Keeping the Note 5 as a backup phone after getting the S7 makes sense if the Note 5 specific features are not compelling enough to continue using it as the primary phone. In my case, I'll hang on to the Note 5 as the backup - if the Note 6 has enough compelling new features and improvements for me to want to get one.

Yep... everything points to a 5.1/5.2 inch S7, a larger, 5.5" S7 Edge... and the next slot higher is reserved for the Note series later in the year. That seems to be the most logical course to be honest.

I have a connection that basically throws new Samsung devices at me. I'm using his hand-me-down Note 5 in place of the new S6 edge he gave me. So I'll probably get an S7 because the Note is just too big for my hands and I don't use the pen much.

I am not sure why you are going to ditch the Note 5 for the S7? Do you really think the S7 will have a MicroSD? Think again. A co-work was speaking to someone at Bell Canada yesterday because it's time for him to upgrade his hardware. The S7 will be shipping in 32/64/128GB and according to Bell it won't include a MicroSD.
