After several attempts with tempered glass and film screen protectors, I give up. The curved screen seems to make it impossible for the screen protectors to adhere for any length of time. Aside from not adhering, the tempered glass screen protectors I've tried caused a significant reduction in response to the touchscreen. Looking at reviews, it doesn't appear there is any screen protector for the Note 8 that doesn't have issues. I have a nice case for the phone, but I don't like not having a screen protector. I'm not sure what else to do at this point. I don't have the $$$ to keep wasting on screen protectors that don't work. The Note 8 screen is gorgeous, but now I'm regretting having the curved screen.
Your first and only post on AC forums and it sounds like a commercial. Hmmmm. So after trying 3 different glass protectors including 2 zagg I was ready to give up on them altogether. Then I read a review of the Am Film tempered glass screen protector by tech matte and decided to give it a try since it was only 11.99. The review written by phone arena said it was the best of the glass screen protectors after they tested a whole bunch of them. I tried it not expecting much after having such issues with more expensive ones such as bad touch sensitivity and dust collecting under the protector.
I have to say, I could not have been more pleased. The installation was so easy and it went on perfectly, and it doesn't interfere with the touch sensitivity of the screen at all. It looks great as well. It is also case friendly. I can not recommend this product enough!
For those that do not use a screen protector, how long do you typically have/use a phone? I've never had/used a phone for less than 2 years. My N8 will be no different. I'm not convinced that going that long without a SP would be the best thing to do. However, if you only have a phone for a few months or even just a year, going without a SP doesn't seem like a bad idea.
Yeah, I've been looking through it and have only seen lots of recommendations for the use of screen protectors... I got a screen protector at the Verizon store when I bought the phone and in two weeks the corner started to peel. I didn't realize it was doing this until I noticed the lack of sensitivity when trying to drag the notification bar down. Since then I ripped it off and have rocked it without one.
Always slap on a dbrand back skin on my glass phones, even tho I use wallet type cases it stops sand from scratching back glass. Their dragon skin is awesomeI was going to pass on any protection, but noticed that the glass on the back of the phone is getting worn from sliding on a table (sliding due to slick surface, as I try to use it while it's flat). Kinda irks me that they use such a fragile material for an expensive device.
That, and a dream I had last night where I dropped the phone and the face cracked, means I'll be getting some kind of case. Will likely pass on screen protection though.
I normally keep them for 2+ years, and I've never used a screen protector on any of them. I tried to apply one once and it had more bubbles than a Lawrence Welk show, so I'm just careful. Never had a significant scratch.
LMAO at this reference...another old foagie?
LOL yep, old enough. I suppose most on here have never heard of Mr Champagne Music.
Benny Goodman big band??LOL yep, old enough. I suppose most on here have never heard of Mr Champagne Music.
Mine will be here tomorrow. Can you notice the dot matrix? I had zagg but it cracked just from me pressing the home button. Glad you are liking yours.I am using the amFilm with dot matrix. I have tried a couple others with varied success, but this one has great sensitivity. I am on my second one, now. I dropped my phone with the first one installed and it shattered, but left my screen intact. Did it's job. No way in hell will I use my phone without a protector.
