I am impressed with the Note 5. I also saw it in store before it was released. If I didn't have my G4 already it would be the phone I'd likely buy. The one concern I'd have is something I felt with my Z3 and it's the height of the phone with the offscreen buttons that the Note 5 has. It didn't feel top heavy in the store but I used the phone for 5 minutes.
Having said that my G4 came to me after an unexpected accident with water killed my Sony Z3 which I was perfectly happy with. I owned a G2 so I was a bit familiar with LG UI. Overall from what I've seen and looked at, LG checks all the marks I wanted the best.
Great Camera - I'd love a couple of the auto picture type settings to come back that LG had before like sports mode. Auto mode isn't so great for sports shots but it's good for just about anything else. Taking a little time to learn manual mode can get you amazing action shots.
2nd Battery - Have not had this since my Galaxy Nexus. Such a great feature. 0 to 100% in a minutes time paired with pretty good battery life is just hard to overlook.
SD card slot - I'd probably just prefer a 64gb phone but it's nice that we get 32gb plus an option to go beyond that. I had a 32gb card already in my Sony so I just moved it over to the G4.
Feel - The G4 just doesn't feel like a big phone. In fact it feels smaller to me than my Sony Z3 did probably because it's lighter and not as tall. I'm not going to lie I'd still prefer this to be a 5.2" 1080p screen but LG has done a great job.
Remote - Yes I use the remote control app and love it. I missed it on my Sony Z3 because I had it on my G2. For some reason Samsung decided not to put in a remote app in the Note 5.
If I could change anything about the G4 I'd just make it so it comes with wireless charging with the stock back. The pins are there so they obviously thought about it. Come on LG, that a nice feature you could have easily added.
