Anyone Interested in getting the Note5?

I am impressed with the Note 5. I also saw it in store before it was released. If I didn't have my G4 already it would be the phone I'd likely buy. The one concern I'd have is something I felt with my Z3 and it's the height of the phone with the offscreen buttons that the Note 5 has. It didn't feel top heavy in the store but I used the phone for 5 minutes.

Having said that my G4 came to me after an unexpected accident with water killed my Sony Z3 which I was perfectly happy with. I owned a G2 so I was a bit familiar with LG UI. Overall from what I've seen and looked at, LG checks all the marks I wanted the best.

Great Camera - I'd love a couple of the auto picture type settings to come back that LG had before like sports mode. Auto mode isn't so great for sports shots but it's good for just about anything else. Taking a little time to learn manual mode can get you amazing action shots.
2nd Battery - Have not had this since my Galaxy Nexus. Such a great feature. 0 to 100% in a minutes time paired with pretty good battery life is just hard to overlook.

SD card slot - I'd probably just prefer a 64gb phone but it's nice that we get 32gb plus an option to go beyond that. I had a 32gb card already in my Sony so I just moved it over to the G4.

Feel - The G4 just doesn't feel like a big phone. In fact it feels smaller to me than my Sony Z3 did probably because it's lighter and not as tall. I'm not going to lie I'd still prefer this to be a 5.2" 1080p screen but LG has done a great job.

Remote - Yes I use the remote control app and love it. I missed it on my Sony Z3 because I had it on my G2. For some reason Samsung decided not to put in a remote app in the Note 5.

If I could change anything about the G4 I'd just make it so it comes with wireless charging with the stock back. The pins are there so they obviously thought about it. Come on LG, that a nice feature you could have easily added.

After handling the Note 5 one handed, I've noticed that the inside part of my hand inadvertently touches the screen when I reach across to tap something on the other end. The only reason I can think of is how slim the bezels are. The LG G4 doesn't have as slim of bezels, so I don't have that problem with the G4. It's quite annoying when you open up apps you had no intention of opening.

I've honestly thought about it. My g4 lags and has issues with WiFi calling. Hopefully t mobile releases an update soon..if not I'll gladly go to the note 5 or the next nexus device.

I had Wifi calling issues in the beginning until I got a new SIM card. Now works great.

With my inclination to always second guess myself I have been watching the note 5 forum as well . I was glad to see a couple of threads pop up about issues such as lag etc.

You will find that on every forum. Every one.

I have a choice to make now. Best Buy sent me a $600 gift card and a box to return my G4 in (radio issues). Not sure if I should stick with the G4 or try something else.

Obviously I like the G4 w/it's camera, SD card, simultaneous phone & data, and removable battery. I like the looks of the S6, but I'm just not a fan of Samsung as a company. I have thirty days to return my G4, so I guess I could wait and see what the iPhone 6S will feature (Sept. 9), but I really don't want to go back to Apple.

I'm going to head up to Best Buy tomorrow and peruse the phones they have - maybe that will help make the decision for me (leaning towards another G4 though).

Better than any Apple needless to say. The G4 is by far more utility oriented now than the new Note 5.. I came from a note 3. BTW just got a firm ware upgrade and behold the key pad lag is gone. Getting a note 5 with more than 64 gigs seems to be all but impossible. Bad news for Samsung. I used 36 gigs just for my music files alone. Video and pictures put it all over 96 gigs. My new G4 has the scandisk 200 gig .lots of room for the 4k video plus the raw pictures I take

Anyone wanna wait and see about that Note 5 Active? My bet is that they put a removable battery and SD card...

Oh I have had the same experience at the Sammy kiosk. I have always avoided Sammy phones because in the past the displays have not been very accurate-nice eye candy but as a photographer I want a display at least in the ball park. Plus didn't like the feel of the phones. That has been fixed plus the Note really looks like a nice phone. For me though the choice is upgrading from the G2 to either the G4 or the Note. The lack of removable battery isn't an issue for me, nor the SD card issue. I really love my G2; The plastic back is not an issue since I just slapped on one of those Verizon black cases. Issue solved. I like the feel of my G2 in the hand and I hope the G4 has a similar feel. Cameras are a big deal for me and I think that my decision is going to come down to who has the better camera software to go with the camera. If it is the Note...then is that worth the about $100 dollar difference in cost? If I go with the G4 that will be my third LG phone actually my fourth. My first two were feature phones including the envy- the one with the good keyboard. My first cell phone was a little LG flip phone, which I still have.

Now that is weird! I have wireless charging for my G2. It is slow but nice to have at work. Why would LG not keep that?

Just a word of caution for those considering the Note 5: the RAM management issues seen on the GS6 are still present, albeit to a lesser degree. If you're the type of user who frequently multitasks with 6 or more apps, prepare for frustration due to apps being closed and reloaded when you return to them. Granted, the hardware in the Note 5 ensures that the reload will be lightning fast, but that's of no use when you're in the middle of a post or you don't want to lose your place on a very long page, etc.

I guess I'm the only one loving my Note 5.. A phone enthusiasts by all means.. Had most every phone made in the recent years. This is by far my favorite.

My kids just ordered a Note 5 and a Galaxy S6 Plus Edge for Sprint Upgrades! With my LG G4, we'll have a pretty good selection of phones to mess around with! Dare I say that it will be a nice trifecta! LOL!

Would be interested in your thoughts after playing around with the devices for a bit!
