Anyone know what this tool is for?

btw was just having fun with my jokes since your question had already been answered.

this is a starting place because I have no idea which model you have. if you have an account you can login and if you ordered from them you can then go to my products and you will find it on that page and just click downloads.

Cool, great, thanks for the link. What's strange is that the Note 10 manual from the Samsung website seems to have fewer pages than the Note 10 manual from the Verizon website (per my earlier post).

Also, has anyone tried downloading and installing the "Software" app from the Samsung website? It's for "Samsung USB Driver for Samsung Phone" from above link. I have downloaded it but don't want to install it unless I know what it's for. Anyone tried installing this app yet??

you're welcome. interesting about the manual. the link I gave was the unlocked variant which is what I have, so it's probably just the carrier version.

I downloaded that too. usually you need the usb driver when you want to do things between your desktop and phone. you can transfer files back and forth etc. I rarely use it but always download it when presented with the option.

For the downloaded usb driver app, how is that different than plugging in USB-C cable from phone to laptop and transfering files back and forth? That's how I've been doing it for years.

I always read that you should update the usb driver for compatibility. this is what it is for. if I'm going to use that feature I update to the latest driver. ymmv

Hmm, but so far everything I've set up is compatible. I'm more concerned about installing a new un-tried driver which might mess up my current settings. For example, the DEX app to pair my phone to my Windows laptop works fine. I'm worried of experimenting with a new driver that might cause a disturbance In the force (I'm a Star Wars geek).
