Anyone NOT happy with their choice?

I have had mine for a few days and I am loving it! Not only is it faster than my 3D but ATT's network is so much better than Sprints! Data connection is badass!

I'm not happy at all. I finally got sick of everything reloading. Sense is a joke. An absolute pig of a skin. What do you have when you first boot it up, 300 MB of ram? I'm not even sure this thing has the 1GB it claims. The HOX seems to be all style over substance. HTC took the thing that android did the best and buchered it. My Vivid performs better. I will admit that it doesn't look as nice though. This is not easy for me to say as I really tried to like this phone.

I agree with most of ur findings 'cept for "HTC is a pig of a skin"... lol (Sense 4.0 may have that loading quirk and slight lag from time to time, but its undeniably an imrovement over all past versions , i like it!)

I love the look of my phones form factor, but sooooooo many lil niggles, learning curves, quirks, flaws, and all around shortcomings, i just don't know if this is a "keeper".... I mean, YES, when i look over at it or first pick it up, hands down every time i am like "i love this" but within a few seconds of each use i am like "grrrrrr".... As beautiful as it is, it is nowhere near as enjoyable to use as it is to look at, that is FOR SURE!

Don't get me wrong, if this phone came out a year ago it would've been the, "New G*d I Prayed To", (sad, isn't it?! lol) but at this given moment i almost feel like "its a 'tweener", if that makes any sense.....

I paid outright 459.00 ($250 early upgrade fee + $199.00 for phone, so i am going to use my FULL 30 days to see if this is worth keeping...

I've been :banghead: with my Amaze that stereo video recordings have a persistent, cycling noise. The new ICS Sense 3.6 update hasn't resolved it.

I've seen a YouTube video from a One with loud clicks when the lens is focusing, anyone else have issues with video recording?

250 dollar upgrade fee?

yup. If you aren't due for an upgrade but want a new device, thats what they charge plus whatever the new device they are selling costs. Its a lot but for phones costing 549, 599, 649(NOTE) u can save 100-200 in some cases... I hadn't heard of it and when they first told me i was like, um, 100 isn't much of a savings but once i got determined to buy it, i was like okay $450 IS better than 550... However it DOES re-extend your contract out 2 full years, prolly not worth it to most ppl, but 100 bucks saving IS 100 bucks! Truthfully, i love a lot about the phone, but 450.00 and now TWO FULL year contract to fulfill, more than like won't keep it.... Will know for sure in 21 more days...lol

Wow I had no idea. I buy phones a lot so this will def come in handy. Is this at all corporate stores?

Well of course, if you remember to have them unlock your existing phone, then do a factory reset on it after the new phone's settled in, you can sell the old one on. Depending upon what you're selling on ... the total price to upgrade (aside from the new contract term) isn't so bad at all.

Another great point. Mine that i was trading up from (and that i STILL might go back to is my Samsung Infuse but i cracked the screen when i dropped her on the asphalt while comparing size to a friends new phone 2 weeks ago.... Guess she was sending me a message...lol

But i HAVE tried getting them (At&t) to unlock a phone before and i know some are successful getting the code from them but the time i tried it was sheer madness calling the store, then being told to call cust serv, then getting redirected to store, i finally gave up and just went with a diff phone.... And a few years back ago i had got a pretty At&t lavender metal Razr off ebay (brand new) for $100.00 and wanted to run it on tmobile. It worked, but just barely and for the whole few months i had that phone, i was unsuccessful getting the firmware upgrade the phone needed, att kept saying it was t-mobiles issue and vice versa...

So my 2 experiences left me like, "i'll never try to cross phones/equipment against carriers again, eff that"...lol

At my ATT corp store I got my HTC one X for $49!

I brought in a flyer from Wlmart that had the phone for $150 and they matched that price! They then bought my HTC Evo 3D that I used on Sprint for about 9 months for $100. So my One X cost me a grand total of $49 and some change!

Was an awesome deal!

I'm a huge Apple fanboy. Definitely living in the Apple eco-system and have tried Android devices in the past but always went back to iOS.

2. My mac mail. Like I said, I was in the Apple ecosystem. I'm moving things to a gmail account but I don't like that the native Android mail app doesn't do push for my mac mail. I'll live.

The email app on the One X will do push for Gmail. Just need to set it up as an exchange account if you only want one unified email for all your accounts. If you do remember to turn off notifications for Gmail so you do not get double notifications.

The friend,... or the phone? :D

I hear ya. I asked for AT&T's help in unlocking my Nokia 6682 a few years ago, you only get like four tries to unlock before the phone refuses to. I had reps insist that I perform steps that I was pretty darn sure were false, and like a compliant, cooperating fool tried them anyway. So the phone remains locked, partly due to AT&T stupidity. I guess you have to push and push and push to get the right person.

T-mobile is much nicer about unlocking, and I hope that's an industry trend. If you've had the phone for 60 days IIRC (no kidding) then they'll unlock, either over phone, online, or in store. A common story to start this is, "I'm going to London for work, and instead of roaming, my employer wants me to get a prepaid card in the UK and expense it. So ... I need you to unlock it,but don't change my account at all because I'll be slipping my usual SIM card back in on return."

If it's unlocked properly it should work on another carrier ... with the usual caveats that its performance will be limited by the phone's radios ... not all handsets run all the freqs necessary for full functionality on another carrier. But that's the buyer's caveat emptor issue, not the sellers IMHO. e.g.

Model number is [model], firmware version is [version]. Buyer is responsible for confirming this handset will work on the buyer's intended carrier. Seller will not accept returns based on buyer mistakes in this regard.

Been back to using my 4S full-time since Saturday. Apps are so much nicer for iOS but I really miss the screen size (and hardware in general) of the One X. If I could get just get iOS on the One X . . . :p

I won't say the phone is without issue because it's not but it's my favorite overall device I've had in the last couple years. Every one that I've had has had issues so I am not expecting perfection but foe what I use my device for the one X has been the perfect combination of hardware and software. I loved the Nexus a lot but I did have a lot of issues with it.

K9 can also handle Gmail push, as well as exchange, and imap.

Sent from my HOX

I moved back to an iphone 4s today. The HOX had its strengths, mainly the screen. I really respect Android and what its there for. There are areas of innovation that ios is behind on, or catching up slowly. However, one of those areas is not fluidity and polish. Everything on ios seems much more polished and it always just "works"...I found multiple occasions where things crashed and just annoyed me. It's always nice to try something new and 'fun' but when the fun is over, you just want it to work. ICS is much improved over Gingerbread, but Sense crashed 10 times a day, and my screen already had scratches in it and I keep the phone in a pocket with no keys or anything. My iphone that I carried daily for 6 months didn't have even one blemish in it.

I'm an ios'r for life. Oh well. Best wishes to the HOX and Android

To the people whose phones are acting weird and crashing you need to understand that's not normal. You have either a bad app or a bad phone. Phones just don't crash and freeze for no reason. There is always a reason for it that's why you can get a new one and it wont do that. Remember these are mass produced and so are the parts inside. As to the apps not looking as nice as IOS that's because that all the iPhone has is nice apps. I would rather have ok looking apps and have a phone that is not boring. Ive had the iPhone and i don't like anything about. Now to the screen the super LCD screen is better then the super amoled screen. I have the gnex sitting next to my HOX and the LCD screen is better. The colors are more accurate and the color white is actually white. So as you can see im very satisfied with my phone. I dont have a single issue with mine ive not had a reboot, frozen screen or any kind of lag. Maybe i got a good one. At the same time maybe some of the issues you are haveing f will get fiixed with an update. The att phone had only been out sinse May 6 give some time to be fixed . I just want people to think about this phone a little more and give it some time. People talk about getting the sg3 and dont understand that that phone will have issues as well, like bad radios.

When i got my gnex people where talking about the random reboots and the loss of data and even the power botton being on the side and they were complaining all day about it but they kept the phone. 6 months later its finnaly getting and update well within the next few days anyway. People with this HOX dont like where the power button is at and they take the phone back. No visual voice mail and they take the phone back. I know that is horrible that you just might have to listen to a message. I've read to many threads where people are just giving up and returning the phone for yes stupid reasons . Now the multitasking thing i can understand. I dont mean to be rude to anyone but really guys is this phone so bad. I've had worse phones then this and kept them and when updates came out and fixed most of the issues the phone was a good phone. Just maybe dont be so picky. But then again i can negate all of this by saying if it doesnt do what you want it to do like you want it to do then its no good. Just something to think about.

Returned mine. Just not ready to part with my iOS yet.

Camera was great, speed fantastic, just need some more polishing.

I'll try it again later.

I sometimes joke and say for customization on my iPhone all I can do is change the wallpaper and make “folders" of applications. I miss that when I don't use my Android device. You don't have to hack your device to add and change all these features with Android. Ok there's things you don't like. There's always something not to like. Pros and cons to all devices. You just have to get what works for you. If that's the iPhone so be it. I don't like how the iPhone can't get the latest and greatest data speeds with LTE and I have been getting them with Android for over 1 year now. And my iPhone never will be able to get it even after its spread even more because it does not have the hardware for it. Maybe the next model will. So I can't change and add all kinds of features and can't get those faster HSPA+ (iPhone 4S Category 10, versus One X and Category 14) let alone LTE's blazing data speeds. I could go on about how iOS needs to step it up but there's no point. To each there own.

I second that.... But I took mine back and got the GNEX. I wasn't an early adopter but wanted to leave iOS clutches. Multitasking was a joke, Bluetooth and the keyboard was useless. Very happy with the GNEX and consider myself an Android OS user for life. Patience usually pays off though and remember nothing is created perfect but we have to find what works for us, while not spending our hard earned money to become beta testers for new phones. My $0.02
