Anyone switching back to iPhone?

No. Probably much more expensive and most likely controversial

Exactly. That's a great way to alienate potential vegan customers

So out of curiosity, how many of you iPhone fans are older (50+)?
A large majority. There was a study a few years back that showed the largest percent I'd iPhone users where over 50.

I can understand that. I just can't relate when others say they have to squint to see anything on the iPhone's screen.
That's because your haven't used the note.

Seriously though there are folks that are visually impaired the larger screen allows for larger fonts.
Also try to read a PDF on a.3.5" screen.
Last there are plenty of times when I'm sharing the screen to show work images, websites, etc.. we always end up looking a my screen cause the iPhone is to small.

That and I like the simpleness
Simplicity = inefficiency

Using the iPhone is a painful experience for me. Having to click so much for the most basic of tasks is a poor design, not a simplistic design.

The iPhone has gotten much much better since they started taking UI elements from other OSs but it still has a ways to go.

I'll stick my post here from another thread. I need the attention. - -

Now a little negative contemplation from reading the article below from BBC/Technology/Smartphone overuse. (and this is reported elsewhere I'm sure).

I roughly calculate I look at my screen at least 4 to 5 times more per day than my previous GS2, because of the size, the quality and the uses available. I am using my Note 3 screen toooo much.

I would hope they develop switchable e-reader/Amoled type screens in the future to protect eyes younger than mine.

I guess this (article) applies times 3 for iPhone users, unless Amoled is harsher than whatever screen the 5s has.
Any thoughts?

"Smartphone overuse may 'damage' eyes
28 March 2014 06:08

Opticians say people are so addicted to smartphones they may be increasing their risk of eye damage.

They are warning overuse from phones and other devices like computers, tablets, and flat screen TVs can lead to long-term damage.

It comes as a survey of 2,000 people suggests under 25s check their phones thirty-two times a day.

Optician Andy Hepworth said: "Blue violet light is potentially hazardous and toxic to the back of your eyes.

"So over a long period of time it can potentially damage your eyes.

"When you're looking at a smart phone, the light peaking out of that is blue violet."

He says tests have found that over exposure to blue-violet light has the potential to put us at greater risk of macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness.

Opticians say that, although "good" blue light (blue-turquoise) is needed to help regulate biological clocks, it is also thought that extensive exposure to blue violet light can disrupt sleep patterns and affect moods.

"Although we don't know if there's a direct link with it creating eye problems, there is strong lab evidence it can potentially do that," Andy added.

"It's the combination of not blinking enough and bringing the device closer than you normally look at objects - it strains your eyes."

'More headaches'

The survey, commissioned by a group of independent opticians, found that on average, an adult spends nearly seven hours a day staring at a screen with nearly half feeling anxious when away from their phone.

Statistics also suggest 43% of under 25s experience genuine irritation or anxiety when they can't check their phone when they want.

It also found 55% felt the amount of screen time they're exposed to affects them with eye discomfort the main problem.

Eighteen-year-old Alana Chinery from Essex is never without her smart phone.

She said: "I've definitely noticed that my eyes are getting worse from staring at my computer and phone.

"I am getting more headaches."

Amanda Saint, who is also an optician, says the advice is simple.

"Get your eyes tested regularly and take regular breaks from your computer and hand held device."

Android has come a long way and the note 3 is a perfect example IMO. I had the 5S, Droid Max, Z 10 and by far the Note is the best device. Apple devices are nice but too small for me.

The 4k video recording. ...by the time I can get a 4K TV (that I'd be happy with, spelled high-end Samsung or Sony) to enjoy what I recorded in 4K I won't have any phone I have now and the iPhone likely will record in 4K by then as well.

True the Note3 4K recording, it won't take long for the others to catch up.

I totally agree with you on the note 3 there is no phone with the productivity tools of the Note 3 has.

...
Steve Jobs kicked the bucket and Apple started going downhill.
But while I really am not crazy about iPhone it's much better now than it ever has been.

True, but Apple's customer service has gone down the toilet. I used to get whatever tech help I needed from either the genius bar or on the phone, but after Steve Jobs died I started noticing a serious drop in the quality of customer service at Apple. Eventually it became "Nope, it's nothing to do with the device, you're just using it wrong". At that point I took my business elsewhere.

Need to hold out. Google and samsung are doing a marvel team up. They are gonna blow anything apple will do out of the water. 2 major electronic players combined vs one major player. Hands down samsung and google are gonna stomp apple

I'll wait to see if ios will increase it's screen size. even a 5in would be a great improvement. I've had 3 iphones so i know what to expect. This is my first android device and it has taken a while to get use to. i thought i was locked into itunes by have found a work around that. just drop and drag music in itunes into folders and snyc them over. and now that microsoft has a office 365 app which i have downloaded it works great. not to mention onedrive. and my contacts sync great with microsoft active sync. i guess i'm trying to say the longer i use my note3 the less i think about the iphone.
plus i've got the TMobile jump plan i'm in no hurry. so i think i'll just sit back and see what comes down the way the next couple of months

Well that's what we are now arguing about. How big it should be.

The best thing to do in my house is to just buy the gadget and not tell him about it until after it's bought lol

Don't forget that you also need to mention the screaming deal price you paid for the gadget.

Fired up my iPhone again yesterday. I swear I can't make up my mind of what phone to use. I like so many of them. I know that people on here hate on the iPhone but I love this device whether I'm using one or not.
