Anyone switching back to iPhone?

I've switched back and forth between android and iphone several times. I think im back to android to stay. I'm loving the big crisp screen of my s4. There's nothing new from apple that I want at this point.

We will see what Apple brings this year. It's going to be interesting. Also, I'm patiently waiting to see what the Note 4 is going to have in store. If it has a 2K screen, it Could be phone of the year.

Yes indeed. My full upgrade is in November so that's the phone I'm looking for for my upgrade.

I think I've become an Android gal all the way, I used to be Android for phones and Apple for pads. But since I have gotten my Samsung 8.4 tablet....i think I have crossed over for tabs as well. Not to say that I wouldn't buy an Ipad one day. I do think that Apple has a the best laptops and computers though. But one thing I do know they would have to come up with a phone that has more than just icons to woo me back. As of now it's a big fat no for iphone.

Re: Anyone switching back to Iphone?

I traded my 3 month old GS3 for the iPhone 5 about 15 months ago. I had always been an Android phone user, despite also having iPods and iPads. I made the switch to the IP5 primarily for the fluidity. I don't think anyone with experience can deny that an iPhone is superior when it comes to lag, especially going back a few years. Well, it was a mistake. Last week, I traded my iPhone 5 for the M8 (on Verizon).
Though I adore my 3rd gen iPad, and would never go to an Android tablet, I will double NEVER go back to an iPhone.
Why?
Music. iTunes. Near impossible to get all my, ahem, 'borrowed' music on to my iPhone without 3rd party software.
No expandable storage. I'm sorry, I'm a Luddite when it comes to the Cloud.
Being forced to have all apps on homescreens. I like bare homescreens, free of shortcuts, widgets and the like. I'm not savvy enough and lack the inclination to root, flash roms or jailbreak. And Android out the of the box with the addition on ADW or Nova launchers was more than enough for me.
IOS 7 made me puke. Personal opinion, but still. I haven't updated my iPad yet, still running 6 point whatever.

I love my M8, I love the simplicity of Sense 6, and I am so glad to be back to Android. The M8 camera sucks, I've found. But that's not enough for me to trade it in for the GS5. I did the whole Galaxy thing with my GS3, and overall I really liked that phone. But Touchwiz bothers me and I feel that Samsung has loaded almost too many features for my personal taste. The Verizon M8 has almost no bloatware.

Wow, this is quite a thread. I answered the question when the thread first started, I think. Lol
IMO people love iMessage and FaceTime due to its ease of use. It's a dummy version.
I love FaceTime. And if you have a MacBook, you can do FaceTime on there. Or try Viber, Tango app, lots of other ways to video chat. :D

I don't really use any of the things you listed that much I don't know it's just my preference really I do like the simple clean look of ios and how everything just works. The battery life isn't that great on my note 3 either and the camera is really bad so I think I will be getting the next iphone even if it isn't bigger to be honest but I will be keeping my note 3 it is really a great phone but it's just not as good as my iPhone 5 was.

Well you must not use it as much as me because I can't get 14 hours out of it no chance even when I first bought the phone, I've tried every trick to make it better and it's just not good enough for a ?500+ phone, its 7:50am here now and by 1pm it will be at about 30% I have to charge it twice a day.

It really depends on how you use your phone and what apps You have downloaded. I had the NBA Gametime app downloaded and it was sucking my battery dry. Also, I use the S-pen a lot. Keeping the S-pen detached drains the battery more than just using the keyboard for input. Also, keep in mind your connection. If your connection is poor, your battery will drain.

Yeah I have everything pushed Facebook & Messenger, WhatsApp, viber, multiple emails accounts ect and my signal is always bad 1 or 2 bars most of the time because I live quite far from the city but connected to wifi most of the time.

If a bigger iPhone comes out this year I'll be getting it over the note 4 the note 3 is my first Android device I do love it and will be keeping it but miss the camera quality, imessage & facetime and a few other features from ios.

I can see how that would bring a bunch of people back to iPhone but it wouldn't make any difference for me because while size was definitely an issue, I also hated the look of row after row of icons. It never changes. Maybe that's what works for Apple but it bores me silly. Also, if Apple does come out with a phablet line (which I think they will), I hope they make good use of the size vs just giving you an iPhone 5s supersized. What is the point unless you do something with it which is exactly why I love the Note. It isn't just about the size but also about the S Pen and all the amazing things you can do with it. The iphone doesn't do ANYTHING except open apps when you click on them. No multi-tasking, no split screens, no air view - nothing.

As far as battery life - Honestly, I'd expect the iPhone to last longer. It doesn't do anything for pete's sake. Think about it. There is SO much more going on or could go on with your Note 3 vs an iPhone 5s. How much can it possibly be doing in the background? On my Note 3, I have an amazing amount of things going on. Of course I don't expect it to last as long but it does ok and I can plug it in during the day too. If I couldn't, I'd probably get a spare battery. The thing is, I buy these phones so I can DO all of these things. I sometimes think people just want to get days out of their phone at the cost of not being able to do anything with it. Yah, I can turn off the WiFi, Bluetooth, all background data updating and turn my screen down to 20% but WHY?! I din't buy a darn paper weight. I bought a smart phone. I have my wifi and blue tooth on all day, my screen turned up to 100% (old eyes) and a number of things updating in the background no doubt. I also have location services turned on all the time so I can use Life360 (great little group locator app from Samsung) all of which succeed in using my battery but it's what I want to do and I will not compromise that just to saymy phone lasted 24 hours. I'm quite content to charge it some during the day while I'm work. That said, I do wish that battery technology would keep up with this stuff. ;)

Yeah tons of stuff running and low signal will rock a battery. I rock mine hard at work since I use it alot but I solved the issue with an extra battery & charger off Amazon. Once one is low.. Swap and I'm back to 100 while the other is in the spare charger and charging back up.

Simple. No swiftkey/Swype, no Wacom pen input, no big screen, no widgets, No iPhone! Aside from my phone, I'm all apple... We'll, except for my watch, TV, Blue Ray. & sound bar (which are Samsung) that is.

It'll be interesting to see what Apple does this year personally I think just making a bigger screened phone isn't going to be enough. They need more ways to use that screen and adding widgets (doubtful) to iOS would be a progressive step towards that.
Also having used Windows Phone 8.1's keyboard, and Swift-key I think it's about time they revamp their keyboard because it sucks balls compared to the competition.

That's why a larger iPhone doesn't interest me. I'm sure it will sell Well and no doubt Johnny Ives will be trying to convince us that Apple have reinvented the wheel.

I'll stick to my note 3, iPads and Apple TV.

I've read the last few comments here about the Note 3's subpar battery life and I have to agree. But I don't think it's a fair comparison to an iPhone, because like everyone is saying the Note 3 does a lot more in the background, has a bigger screen to power than an iPhone and naturally would eat up more battery life

That being said I hated having to charge my note 3 at least 2-3 times during the day. So the simplest solution for me was to get an extended battery. I got the Anker 6400 mAh extended battery, and love it. I can go all day - 12 hrs plus - at work and never charge it. And usually still at 50% at the end.

I don't agree. I had the iPhone 5S for a month at the start of the year and I found that the battery life was no better than the note 3 /S4. It's more consistent on a day to day basis but I haven't had many rogue battery days with the note 3 anyway. I'd say battery life was the same. However I prefer the note because I can carry a spare battery with me so I never have to worry about it running out.

Charging a phone 3 times a day? I guess you must be using it a whole lot.

I usually just charge mine once a day at night. I often have about 30% charge left by 10/11 PM and I take it off the charger at 6.30 am. I average about 4 hours screen time. On the weekends I don't bother to charge it at night and get a day and a half.

Also we are comparing apples to oranges. The battery size in the iPhone is much smaller in actual capacity than the Note 3

My wife has a iPhone 5 and is constantly needing to charge her phone, and she uses hers as much as I do my Note 3. Either case I do like the iPhone 5 camera quality much better than the Note 3

Thanks for reminding about this. I think it's time I go the extended battery route. I can charge my phone during the day but it would be nice not to always have to and I simply will NOT compromise what I want to do with my phone for the sake of battery life.
