Anyone taking theirs back?

I traded in my GNex with Jellybean for my S3. The Nexus was nice and smooth with JB, but the battery still drained too fast, the voice quality was crappy and the camera was as bad as any I've owned since the Og Droid.

The S3 has maintained rock-ribbed signal quality, voice quality is as good as I've ever seen, it clings to Wifi like a barnacle to a hull, the camera is excellent (though it oddly showed streaks around lighting the first time I used it, not since), and where GNex JB had a bit of hesitation when you opened the app drawer, there isn't a hint of lag on S3 that I've been able to induce. Mine is rooted, but I haven't seen a ROM worth flashing yet. THAT aggravates me. We, the Verizon faithful, sure got the poopy end of the stick on this one. This is the first time I've ever seriously questioned my loyalty to Big Red.

My wife is happy with her s3
There is lots of bloat on it but thank god is has 2 gigs of memory.

My issue is that the radio seems to suck @$$. My OG Dinc held the 1x and 3G signal a LOT better then this does. My wife and I both have 32g SIIIs and neither of ours had good 4G service in Columbus Ohio when we were there over last weekend, and we had multiple spots along I-70 where we had no data or voice service.....something she did not have on her Samsung Facinate or me on my Dinc
We have 4G where we live and the signal for me is -103db on the average. I thought that was really bad and also thought there was a problem with the S3 radio. Then I checked on my wife's Razr and she's essentially getting the same signal. So now I blame Verizon for bad 4G coverage. I still get fast downloads though.

My wife and I just came from the Fascinate (original Galaxy) which we had from the day it was released. We both loved that phone and nothing that has come out has piqued our interest... until this phone. I must say that after 4 days so far I love this phone. With my Fascinate I rooted and updated roms and kernels and it was a great phone. This one is a beast compared to the Fascinate. Everything is sooooooo fast and smooth. There is nothing not to love about this phone. Yes the bootloader is locked but that WILL change soon. I am more than happy with my choice and my 9 yo daughter is loving my old Fascinate to play games on in the car.

Newbie here - coming from an older BB Curve - I am feeling lost...
I, like many here, ordered the GS3 to keep my unlimited data plan....but am feeling buyers remorse :(
My signal strength at my house seems to fluctuate from 1x-4g (with 1-2 bars), my BBerry gets 2-3 bars and strong 3G signal, the phone feels too large in my hand and is not that comfortable to hold....I am considering returning it and have a few questions for those that have.
1-if pre-ordered online - is the 14 day return start when it was delivered?
2-if I pre-ordered online can I take it back to a Verizon store or do I have to call?
3 - Do I need to buy another phone or will they 're-activate' my old BB, and if so, will I loose unlimited data??

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I'm suddenly having connection issues too. I don't get it. It was fine all week until yesterday, and now the data connection "stalls" (can't do anything, but says it is connected). It seems to be working again after turning it off for a while, but I am currently sitting in a spot where I spent hours messing with this phone after getting it (on a solid LTE signal) and I only have 3G. My whole area is red to dark red on the LTE coverage map, so I don't know what to make of this sudden loss of performance.

You can't please everyone. Coming from the Nexus, other than vanilla ICS (and Jelly Bean), this phone is superior in every way, especially battery life. With that being said, the Nexus is nice, and I could be happy with that phone, but comon now, this phone is just better.

You do have to laugh, this exact thread ends up in every new phone forum.

You have my exact situation. For that reason I had to say bye bye to this phone.

Had the same issue last week, it hasn't reared its head since then fortunately

No phone is perfect and I don't expect perfection. My S3 comes as close as possible with today's technology as far as I'm concerned though.

I agree with this. First, lot of the issues that people are having can be resolved with a software update. The phone hasn't been out that long so people may need to be patient until the bugs are fixed. And even then, there are going to be things about the phone that aren't the best. After dozens of phones I have come to realize that chasing the perfect phone only frustrates you in the end. Bless the phone is interrupting my daily uses on a scale that is completely unacceptable, I would keep it.

You can keep unlimited so long as you don't buy a subsidized phone with a 2 year contract. However, the unlocked unlocked gnex won't work for Verizon.

With regards to your wifi problem, one thing to consider is your router. I was having weak wifi signal, changed the router and it fixed my problem.

Aw come on. People shouldn't have to change their routers and stuff. Some things are actually problems with the phone and not everything else around it. Having said that, mine has been working great. No issues to report as of now.

Personally I don't care about home Wi-Fi performance, I bought the phone for LTE data and making calls on the go. If it can't deliver that reliably, then I need something else.

With that said, I'm back on working LTE in the house, setup we'll see how long it lasts.

Lets hope with other LTE markets firing up, Verizon will improve their coverage in areas that should be excellent but get moderate performance. *fingers crossed*

this phone for me has been hands down better than the nexus I returned after a week, and the Droid Charge I had before it. No problems with wifi, 3g or 4g anyplace I have been. While I could care less about the wifi, other than saves on data, I travel a lot for my job, and having a working phone is important. This phone has been great!

My wife and I live in a basement apartment and we both have the 32 gig SGS3 and we see absolutely no signal difference coming from a droid RAZR and Droid X. No problems with dropped calls and the Wifi is upstairs and our devices stay connected non stop with no issues. At my work the S3 actually connects and stays connected to the wifi better than my RAZR did. I am extremely happy. The only major issue I see with the phone is it is brittle. My wife is less happy with hers since she dropped it from her lap about a foot drop and the entire screen spidered. So now we are awaiting a replacement... Don't drop your phones folks not even a little drop... They are brittle.

R U kidding me. This thing is a keeper.

Ya watch the drop tests on YouTube even the iphone did better than this one

well, mine's boxed up and ready to go back - got my old BBerry reactivated....was worried about connection in an area I frequently travel where there is no Verizon service and my BB gets 1x with 1-3 bars....with the Sammy having what seems to be lower signal strength, didn't want to chance it... and like I said before - it was uncomfortable for me to hold, I felt like I had to have the death grip to keep in in my small hand.. :(
