Anyone thinking about returning this phone and going to the S8?

I really, really thought I would like this phone. I like it but I am really interested in the S8 and I didn't think I would be. The G6 is great, but its kind of already done. Dunno. Hard not to consider especially since there is no restocking fee with VZW right now if you bought online and has a 30 day window. Thoughts?

I'm on the fence right now. I love the design and the phone but I'm disappointed in the camera quality. The camera is almost worthless inside and lowlights taking any pictures with people.

Sadly returned mine within 24 hours. Main camera didn't improve over the V20 and the Note 7 killed the V20 in full auto so S8+ here I come.

Nope and the only reason why is the curved screens. I am returning my original one due to an absurd amount of phantom scratches on the camera lens when my new one comes in Tuesday. If that one does the same thing then Ive got some decisions to make. Either ignore them and hope they dont cause issues taking pictures or find something else to use for a few months.

I've got a few small scratches on the back of mine. Not sure how. I use a slim case when I'm out and only take it off if I'm at home. I don't think gg5 is very good for scratches, but I guess the s8's would have the same issues.

Yeah it's going to scratch real bad since it's GG5 all over. I'm trying to figure out how to cover mine and not affect the pictures but so far no luck. Mines in a SUPCASE so I dont really understand what caused it.

I'm returning mine but not for the s8, but because my screen is defective. Very dim under normal conditions. Went to the store today to compare and the ones there were absolutely beautiful and bright displays. Mine is dark and dull. I may get another one, I also don't care too much for curved screens. Waiting for the note 8

Yes. I'm actually going back to my Pixel until the S8 is released. Don't like the blurry camera with any motion and Google assistant sucks on this phone. Works for me after a reboot but then it all quits working after an hour or so. Ok google quits working from lock screen or even unlocked. And if I open the app it just spins. Reboot fixes it for an hour or so. But that's stupid. Was wanting to take it to Miami this week for the weatherproofing by the beach and pool. But I'll take my chances. Wish the damn Pixel had an IP rating.

Just ordered mine so hopefully I won't want to return it. I have gone and checked out the S8 and S8+ about 3-4 times and just not feeling the screen. I did have the Note 7 and liked that phone and screen but don't like the feeling of the S8. I had the S7 Edge, gave it to my son, think I just don't enjoy the curved screens anymore. I currently have a V20, and I really like what LG has done over the last year or so.

Honestly the G6 is a 2016 flagship. It competes with the S7 edge, not the S8. They waited this long for wireless charging and IP68 rating when it's been available on Samsung devices for a while now.

I am for sure. I just booted up my OnePlus 3T tonight. It is so much smoother and faster. I think that I am going to return it and wait out for battery life reviews on S8+. It sucks too because I like the phone for the most part, but some things about it are annoying. Mostly the stutters when scrolling.

Unfortunately my S7 edge, which has been out for a year, has better specs than this G6. Bigger battery & better camera. With all else being equal, why would anyone be interested in this phone. I like it, I like most devices when I first get them (and I get them all) but I'm certainly not going to keep this for my daily driver. It's going back as soon as O get my S8+

Nah. I'm getting both anyway, but even if I wasn't, this is a stellar friggin phone. Beautiful, simple and a joy to use.

I think some people are having "grass is greener" buyer's remorse after seeing the S8. Come on...the G6 rocks.

Flat screen. Number one reason.

Why would anyone want a smaller battery, a single camera with lower resolution, and a fingerprint sensor asking for you to keep touching your camera lens and getting it smudged up? I'm over curved screens too. And I'm over amoled because I like my screens to not have burn in. Sticking with my V20 and I seeing what the V30 will be about, but if I had a G6 I would certainly not be trying to switch it for the S8.

I'm returning the G6. I tries it for a week and the 2 things that killed it for me were the camera and Bluetooth Audio. The camera is really bad, the pictures have a lot of noise and do not look good on a desktop screen, they are blurry as well. The Bluetooth audio has issues too, for some reason, it does not display the music info in my car unless I clear the phone cache and app cache and restart my phone and this needs to be done each time I get in my car. If LG fixes those issues in the future, I will be back, because otherwise, it really is a nice phone. I don't know about the S8, the curved screen is nice, by I find that my palm always hit it and whatever app it hits opens up. The palm rejection is not there yet. Honestly I'm looking forward to the Pixel 2

I was thinking of getting the lg g6 with the current trade in offer at verizon and bonus google home and free tv deal but the no notification light is making me think of waiting to see what the note 8 has to offer or maybe go for a galaxy s8+

Sadly mine went back today due to screen issues. However, once I get my money back I'm getting another one and I hope will have no issues at all.

Probably personal preference, especially in terms of aesthetics.
