Anyone thinking of moving to s22 ultra from z fold 3?

Yes.

I love the Z Fold 3, but I can't house the S Pen anywhere and the Samsung S Pen case for the Z Fold 3 is next to worthless. If the S22 Ultra houses the S Pen in the phone, it'll be a no-brainer for me. I'll use the Z Fold 3 as my tablet instead.
Get something besides the Samsung Spen case, that one does suck. I'm using the Spigen thin case with Spen holder. Works great

I have this case. LOVE IT, but I can't use it as a Daily case as it is WAY WAY Chonky. I normally only use it when I am out on a job site and need the extra protection and the SPen to come along with me to mark up blueprints and maps. I normally use the Samsung Leather Case as my daily and swap them out as needed.

I have to say though, this design is nice and make the best that it can out of this situation.

I plan on getting the S22 Ultra as long as there aren't nasty surprises in the unpacked event on 9 Feb. I will not trade my ZF3 though - I will keep that and see what the ZF4 will be like. If they increase the width of the cover screen of the ZF4, then I will likely upgrade and trade in then, but if they do not and it's the same size, I probably will not. I use the cover screen too much and that is really the only issue I have with the ZF4. Unfortunately, a wider cover screen will mean more weight and bulk, but it's something that I think I can deal with just to lessen the struggle of the cover screen with my fat fingers.

I think over the next year or two I will be figuring out what works better for me - the SXX Ultra or the ZFx.... or Samsung's scrollable phone.

I have a feeling next year Samsung will unveil their scrollable phone since they finally showed their prototype earlier this year. I've always had my eye on scrollable phones before fold phones. The disadvantage is the electrical moving part and also exposed bendable screen that I bet they are trying to figure out.

I really am not a fan of upgrading phones every 6-7 months. I did that with the Note and S series for a few years before stopping with the S8+ and sticking with the Note. I don't really like the S series round corners, so I'm glad they retained the squarish Note look for the S22U. But we'll see what they unveil next week. While the specs seem to be an upgrade in just about all aspects over the Note 20 Ultra - we don't know the whole picture. I would not be surprised, for example, if the S-Pen is not bluetooth and doesn't have the extra functions like camera shutter control, etc. The screen is already a little smaller than the Note 20U. They gimp it enough and then I'll just keep my Note 20U and ZF3.

I'm with KupKrazy on this. Really like the ZF3, but the cover screen is brutally hard to type on, for me at least.

I found that at first but now I use split keyboard on the Samsung Keyboard so turn the phone into landscape which makes typing easier for me at least.

I have been wanting to get a Tab S7 to have more screen when gaming or watching content or browsing when at home. I currently have the S21 Ultra, but lately I just want a tablet to use to lessen the strain and stress on my eyes.

I have gone into Best Buy to hold he ZF3 and really wasn't impressed with it. I'm not sure I could get used to the form factor. The thickness of it when it's closed, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried that, but I just can't get the hang of it primarily because when I'm in landscape I can't see much of what I'm typing. I'll give it another go.

So update to my 1st reply.

I've pulled the trigger and pre ordered the Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256gb with 12gb of Ram in Phantom Black, however I will be keeping my Fold³ too.

I initially pre-ordered when they went live but after watching a few videos and one did a side by side with the Pixel 6 Pro... I cancelled the S22U pre-order, ain't gonna waste my time. I thought the Pixel 6 Pro was small so I'm sure it'll be the same result. That 7.6" Fold3 screen has me spoiled! Getting a slab phone like the S22U seems like going backwards.

Will give S22U a try for the wife N20U. $600 trade in is pretty good.

Not jumping from the Fold 3 to S22U but my trade in my iPhone 12 mini for the green S22. Would like a smaller Android device for when I want to go out with a small phone (cycling, hiking...).

I'm sticking with the fold 3, will see what the fold 4 offers. The S22 wasn't that much to talk about anyway IMO, and I want to see how the exynos goes. It wasn't very long ago everyone was dogging the exynos and now it's all of a sudden good. Time will tell...either way, staying with the fold 3.
