I initially pre-ordered when they went live but after watching a few videos and one did a side by side with the Pixel 6 Pro... I cancelled the S22U pre-order, ain't gonna waste my time. I thought the Pixel 6 Pro was small so I'm sure it'll be the same result. That 7.6" Fold3 screen has me spoiled! Getting a slab phone like the S22U seems like going backwards.
Thanks Mr Segundus, appreciate the eyes on the S22 ultra. I couldn't give up my z fold 3 for for it. Multi-tasking on this is a lot better than on a slab phone. Sold my tab s7 once I got this.I canceled my S22 Ultra preorder after visiting Best Buy yesterday to check out the S22 Ultra. While the updated specs and S Pen silo are nice, there was no "wow" factor for me for the S22 Ultra. It's the familiar boxy shape we've all been used to with the Notes with upgraded internals - boring. The Z Fold 3 continues to wow me. Sure, the battery is only ok and the cameras are also only ok, but you can't unfold an S22 Ultra.
I'll be sticking with this until the Z Fold 4 comes out.
Agreed!!I am sticking with the Fold series. When I bought the N20U (512GB), I swore to myself that I would not upgrade for 3 years... then the Fold 3... so I upgraded, but this time, I NEED to stick to my guns and stay with the Fold series.
The Z Fold 4 is going to have to be a MASSIVE improvement in more ways that durability for me to move. As it is, I have no issues with it and I cannot even complain about Battery since I am always capable of charging this.
I've seen one report the under screen camera is suppose to improve, but yes it's still too early to know. I'm happy to see under screen camera is still being talked about was I will not update if the under screen camera goes away, I'd probably get another fold 3 for back up phone. Let's face it the bulk upgrades on phones anymore is some stupid gimmick the camera can do now. A simple camera like the pixles have would be a upgrade for me on the fold 4.Totally appreciate those deciding to hold out for the Fold4.
Right now no one knows what that will bring but it'll be exciting to find out.
I still have my Fold3 and will continue to use it as well as the Galaxy s22 Ultra.
I feel like going from a Fold3 to a S22U is like downgrading from a 65" TV to a 32" TV, I don't understand how anyone could go back to a slab phone.
If a camera is that important to you, "ride or die feature" you might need to look at stand alone canmeras. I haven't found one bad picture I took with the fold 3, oh darn it, I can't take a picture of the moon.Unless the camera is your ride or die feature? The F3 camera isn't even as good as my Note 10+ I traded in, but it's good enough for me.
I'm right there with ya.

Does it still have the curved display?I canceled my S22 Ultra preorder after visiting Best Buy yesterday to check out the S22 Ultra. The front screen is intended for quick things like a quick reply, quick search and the narrow screen makes it fold smaller to carry. That's the whole concept of the fold, smaller for quick things, open it for the bigger screen. People already complain about the fold being to bulky, and it's no more bukly then the Note 20 ultra, just different form of bulk. Making the outside screen will cause more whining about that. The ZF4 needs to have a wider cover screen. When it can't display certain things properly.. and even Samsung's own Shop app, you know it's just too narrow.
Also couldn't draw on this with my stylus since cover screen don't work with stylus.
So, I am trading in my Note 10+ for the S22U. I will keep ZF3 and I still have my Note 20U.![]()

I know what the intended use of the cover screen is. However they recognize that most people used it a lot for everything which is why they made the screen bigger from the original. I'm saying I think it still needs to be wider to accommodate normal use. It's not always practical to open the phone up. I only open it up when I have time and space but as an everyday driver, a wider screen would be more practical to me. Maybe that is not their goal though. I still love it and nothing beats being able to look at my pics and videos on the big screen, however. Very much looking forward to what they do with the ZF4.The front screen is intended for quick things like a quick reply, quick search and the narrow screen makes it fold smaller to carry. Exactly. Some people won't be happy unless they have thisI actually like the narrow screen. I use it more often than the inner screen. Easier to reach everything with my fingertips.
