Anyone thinking of moving to s22 ultra from z fold 3?

I know what the intended use of the cover screen is. However they recognize that most people used it a lot for everything which is why they made the screen bigger from the original. I'm saying I think it still needs to be wider to accommodate normal use. It's not always practical to open the phone up. I only open it up when I have time and space but as an everyday driver, a wider screen would be more practical to me. Maybe that is not their goal though. I still love it and nothing beats being able to look at my pics and videos on the big screen, however. Very much looking forward to what they do with the ZF4.

Make the phone shorter if weight is the concern?

If they widened the outer display, the inner display would be like 10 inches. There needs to be limit. I'm ok with the narrow outer display.

Exactly. Some people won't be happy unless they have this

That's funny, because I'm not advocating for a larger overall screen, but a wider screen. As I said, make it shorter, then - if the concern is that the size is too big.

I also find it amusing that we would critique a desire for a wider screen when all of us who got this phone got it because of the bigger screen inside in the first place.

Maybe this guy could explain it better as to what Oppo did.

I'm with KupKrazy. I would prefer a slightly wider cover screen too as typing on the cover is hard for me. Therefore, the OPPO form factor is appealing. That said, I'm guessing that Samsung had good reason for settling on the current size.

If a camera is that important to you, "ride or die feature" you might need to look at stand alone canmeras. I haven't found one bad picture I took with the fold 3, oh darn it, I can't take a picture of the moon.

Edit...when I say you, I mean people in general..not just you.

But I didn't say it was MY ride or die feature at all, so it's not even "just me," at all, in any way... or did you mean, "... not you..." lol.

I was postulating why someone... someone ELSE... might prefer to go back to a slab phone.

I said that it's good enough for me.

However, I say, with 100% assuredness, that the pictures it takes are not as good as pictures taken with my old Note 10+, but that they're good enough for me.

I can't ever see myself going back to a slab phone ever again. Not that I won't necessarily upgrade someday, but it sure won't be to a slab phone, cause that's a downgrade.

Neither can I. I am hardly ever referring to just one person even if I quote you, I'm just commenting on something you said in your post.

It was because you said, "... not JUST you..." implying that I was part of the collective you.

I wasn't offended, or had my jimmies rustled, or anything like that I just wanted to clarify what I was trying to say.

FFL... Fold For Life!!

The idea is bigger screen inside, with a smaller footprint to carry around when folded and use the front screen for quick things. The current screen fits the job IMO. It's opinions, we all have them. It's good

Borrowed the above picture.

The Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra does.
That would be what keep me from getting one. I miss the days when the Note had a flat screen. It was nice when it was a new thing; but now it just gets in the way. I'm loving my fold 3; just wish the outer screen was wider and it had micro SD support. Looking forward to seeing what the Z Fold 4 will bring!

I'm not really concerned whether it has a flat or curved screen to be honest.

Neither is a deal breaker for me.

Only reason i like the Z Fold 3 more than the S22 Ultra is because its slim. As in not that wide. I dont even really use the ZF3 unfolded often...

Making ZF3 wider will defeat the purpose of using it one handed when folded. Am good with current form factor but I appreciate if Samsung can reduce it's weight.

Yeah I like the current form factor

Exactly. Its just so good for 1 handed use. Been a long time since i can do it.

I'm done with the Fold 3 battery life is horrible. Front screen is too small. And all the cases suck and scratches my $1700 device. It was nice to try it but just not practical for me specifically. I'm still keeping the Fold 3, I am just trading in my Note 10+ for the s22 ultra. Been a Note user forever but wanted to try the Fold. Great new Tech, but not ready for my hands yet.

I'll give you that the battery life isn't as good as the fold 2 was, but any power user needs to have power sources close by with any phone, I did with the notes also. I've gotten all day with power to spare on days I'm not constantly using the phone. Last Friday I was streaming music or talking on the phone on my 10 hour shift, the whole shift with occasional facebooking, text messages, and went out to dinner with friends just carrying the phone around for another 5 hours and I did not run out of power and never plugged it in. That's good enough for me. I use the battery up when I'm on the big screen all the time, which is often, but my point is the battery can get you all day unless you use it a lot, then you need to find charge time, but that's no different then the notes or any phone.

On the cases scratching the hinge, I kind of find it humorous. People trying to protect the hinge with a case over it getting scratched up. I find cases with the hinge cover way to bulky so I said screw it and don't use hinge covers and no scratches on the hinge. A person would think it would be the other way around.

Good luck with the new phone, sounds like a bar phone is more for you and I'm sure the battery life will be amazing and last longer, as it should, it's bigger battery. Looks to be decent phone, I'm curious if the exynos is going to be good. Wasn't very long ago other countries were envy of us for not having to have exynos, I'm sure it will be the best thing now. That is what I'm going to watch as I think Samsung is testing the waters with exynos and their other phones are targeted to get it also.

I will see you guys at ZF4... I'm going to run with the Pixel and the Ultra for the next 6 months...
