Anyone with a problem-free Pie update.

Right after upgrading I noticed idle battery drain being higher with Pie than before with Oreo so I started taking data. I've got about 10 days now and it appears the overnight drain has curtailed itself. I'm right around 1% per hour, about where I was with Oreo, whereas just after getting Pie it was around 1.5% per hour. I've also noticed that battery life overall seems to be improved. But I'll have definitive numbers pretty soon and I'll post them.

Damn nice! I'll give the overnight another look if that's the case ...

One thing I'm not a fan of - obtrusive (imo) calendar notifications on always on display. It shrinks the clock waaaayy too small for me. Does anyone know if the calendar notifications can be turned off? Or just keep the clock bigger.

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to hide individual pieces of AOD content, like just calendar events. It's all or nothing.

There are 3rd party AOD clocks in the Play Store, some where you can control the appearance, including size.

I'm always more worried about 3rd party apps than the phone OS itself... No point in updating if some of my apps or custom notifications don't work properly on the newest OS... I just want my phone to WORK

I think the important thing is that they're taking care of you, and if I had the same experience I don't think I'd have complaints either.
Yes - this rep even sent me a personal email, so if there was a problem with the replacement, I could email him directly to get the process with the new one started. I've had problems with the phones (nothing serious, except the first one, and I've learned to get around that) but absolutely no complaints about service. (And I've run customer service departments, so I know how they should work. These people could work for me any time.)

Yup... My experience with Google support has been spectacular.
As an example I had an issue with my Pixelbook where Netflix would only work with the Netflix Chrome Extension as compared to the Netflix Android App. I contacted support to let them know the app would would stream a bit and then stop the first time you ran it and would never restart without a factory reset. They took my information and escalated it to engineering. They followed up and told me this was a know issue. The very next morning I got an update and it fixed the problem. Engineering followed up with an email to verify the problem was fixed.

I'm not liking that my volume buttons are set to adjust media volume. I liked it better when I could adjust my ringer.

Having no issues so far. I always wipe the phone on Full OS updates. Been working for me for years.

My Bluetooth has been a bit finicky. Devices that are paired and have been paired aren't reconnecting on their own all the time. My standby battery life kind of sucks too. I get through the day but it seems like on days like today when I haven't used it much I should have a lot more battery left. After 14 hours off the charger and only a little over 2 hours of screen on time I feel like I should have more than 41% left.

No issues here. Pixel 2 XL working as it should. Battery life has actually improved for me.

Apparently, millions of users are not having problems. The original question posed seems to have been answered. Me? I'm one of the millions without problems.

Only three days with mine and so far I am extremely impressed with the pixel2 xl no bugs or issues at all. I also just switched to Mint sim and all features like wifi calling and vvm is working great.

I mostly love 9.0 but do have a couple of issues. My battery life is great but I have notification delays and also periodic fingerprint sensor issues where it either just won't work or tells me the sensor is dirty, (which it isn't). I have done a hard reset and tried many other setting changes but nothing helps.
