ApeX 1.3.1 on Droid X!

I finally got around to overclocking my DX, set it to 1.2 GHz on Low Voltage with several different power saving profiles, plus running 1.3.1 with ADW stock theme... this thing is fast!

I haven't tried setting the OC at boot because of issues others were having since updating to 1.3.1.

I've found that all of the social widgets made suck, period. I just resort to using either the Facebook app or accessing the site via the browser. And I love Smooth Calendar, much better than ones I've used in the past.

anybody tried Jorte? another great calendar app with great widgets.

I initially had issues when switching to Apex with setting the OC at boot, until I moved the Boot Delay to 130 seconds. I would always get a System Not Responding error, until I moved that boot delay.

130 seconds? I might try that then.

That calendar widget killed my battery. As a matter of fact, a number of calendar widgets killed my battery. I gave up and just put a calendar app on my home screen and all is well. Two that I really like are Touch Calendar and Calendar Pad.

Had to go back with LP+,pfft ADW wasn't for me. :)

If you get a random reboot it will follow with a System not responding error. The top button still will work, and the reboot works, this time without the error. But after the delay, you will have the desired OC settings.

Its kinda weird talking to you about different but similar topics in two different forums. Kinda confusing ;)

Is anyone else unable to install the weather animations add on released for Beautiful Widgets today? I can't install that or Space Bunnies. Idk if it's Apex related, but it's a bit frustrating.

I was able to install the BW animations add on just fine but had already switched to another rom be interesting to know this to tho "about if its apex related" or not.

Any suggestions on how to get better battery life?

Ever since updating to 1.3.1 my battery gets about 12 hours and I have the extended battery.

Have you looked into running script in terminal to undervolt? Visit the apeX wiki and it'll have all the commands you need. Here's the link

I was able to install. All is ok. Maybe there's a conflict running somewhere.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure it won't happen again. Its all a part of the process. Do you plan on overclocking? If so your X might lock up. I'm running at 1150mhz right now and my X doesn't like any low voltage setting. I may be choosing the wrong one. I dunno. You can try either one,if you want. If anything locks up,not to worry. Reboot your device and all returns to stock. Just do not set anything at boot during the test process. That's something to make sure you remember

Does anyone know the stock voltages for apex 1.3.1 or just 2.2.1.340

Ive heard the 1000mhz was lowered to 56 but when I load the stock values in droid overclock its 62..? Also my phone does not work at 56 at 1000mhz so Im not sure about people saying the voltages were lowered.

some suggestions which seem to work for me are below. i personally think that individual setups have a lot to do with it. i have the extended battery, but even with the stock battery i was getting 20 hours with moderate use before hitting 10%.

1. the screen is the biggest hog. i set mine to manual (not auto dimming), and put the slider all the way down low. it seems dim at first, but i now find that 90% of the time (while i am indoors), i don't even notice that it's dim. when i go outside, i brighten it up with an easy widget button.

2. 3g uses more battery power than wifi. i use wifi whenever i can. wifi connecting actually sucks more power, so if you constantly switch it on/off, you'll see more power consumption.

3. if you use an aftermarket launcher (i.e. adw), close it and remove all the widgets and stuff from the stock launcher. this doesn't apply to apex per se, but if you are running apex and LP+, you might check that you are not also running apex in the background with a bunch of widgets and stuff running.

4. ymmv, but i personally see a pretty big diference (1.5-2X imrprovement, roughly, depending on usage) with JuiceDefender. i have it set to turn on the radios and fetch email/etc every 15 mins for 3 mins. it produces minimal lag, mostly when i first wake the phone (because it is usually disconnected and needs to reconnect to wifi).

hope any of this helps.

I've tweaked my phone and as of last night, after rebooting it while on the charger, I disconnected it and left it sit all night. A good 8 or 9 hours later, with full 3G running, push notifications, a bunch of emails and texts, but on silent of course, I awake to find my phone still at 90% battery. That's the best it's ever done. However, I didn't run 1.2 GHz like I was, I brought it back down to 1 GHz low voltage with 800 MHz max while the screen is off. REALLY helps with battery life and it still has plenty of power do do what it needs to while in an idle state. I had it down to 300 MHz while screen was off but it lagged when I went to wake it.
