Apple: Get A Life!!!

95%, lol. You must not have any idea how to utilize Android. And BlackBerry can do most of what an IPhone can do too, with even more stability and a greater ease of use. But it didn't offer enough. They stayed stable in their userbase for a few years too. If what you said was true, Android wouldn't have been able to seize such chunk of the market the way they have and with Apple having such a significant head start. If Apple was as good as Android, Android wouldn't exist.

I've had more android phones than most people here, and have rooted nearly all of them. The iPhone can do 95% of what android phones can do.

Where does these patents come from? lol

The nature of these complaints mean that every time new phones come out, a company would have to file or amend their complaint. Sounds like this one is based on the same patents as previous ones.

Still stupid though.

Can u tether for free with a fruit phone? Can u overclock it to play video games smoothly (nes on to ps2) for free? Do I have to be locked down to itunes? Answer those questions and get back at me

AND "real" multitasking.
Live wallpaper
Flash video?
How many audio and video codecs are supported?

Just because it sells doesn't mean it is superior OR even that it is not inferior.

Who sells more, Ruths Chris or McDonalds? Both sell beef, just not the same cut or quality.

I'm just pointing out the major differences between android and iPhone I used both and bb so I'm entitled to my opinion and yeah I'm a fandroid I like nice shiiii and android is nice;)

BB is way behind in apps to the iphone, yes it can make calls and check the weather but people want more. That is why BB is in serious trouble and I don't think the next gen software is going to pull them out. For BB to survive they will need to expand to other handset makers like Android has. Android has been able to seize a large part of the market because of the abundance of manufactures, cheaper phones and the rapid expansion of the Play store. Very few people will pickup an Android phone because they can flash custom roms etc. Fact is the iPhone is a good phone it's stable (although not as much as people think, check the logs on an iphone and you will see what I mean) has a ton of apps and is supported by a strong eco-system.

Tell me what major things the average Apple user does that can't be done on a Blackberry, because I think you'll find it's close to zero. But people want more, I agree. That's why I see loads of new people in the Forums every day, switching over from Apple. And do you know why 90% of them say they switched? They were they were tired of the same old boring iOS or that their iPhone couldn't do what they want. Sounds pretty much the same as the folks leaving Berry.

And people don't pick up an iPhone because it's got a strong ecosystem (hate that Apple market jargon word), most people don't do more on their phones than text, surf the web and listen to music. They pick it up because their friends have it, they think it's the thing to have or they don't know about anything else with enough understanding to feel confident buying it. But that's changing. Of all the people I know only 2 have IPhones. And you know what else? none of them are nerds, and their phones generally seem to be in the 150+ dollar range. They could have easily bought IPhones, and most of them used to. And 9+ million people have preordered the 200+ dollar GS3, so I don't think the cost of hardware is why Android is selling, I think that's just what Apple fanboys would like to think.

The iPhone is/was a status symbol, because since the iPod, Apple = excellence. Of course, if "everyone" has one, then that status is not necessarily something to brag about.

What strikes me as funny about this particular situation is that Apple is desperate to portray themselves as the golden child and the "innovators," and that other companies like Google and Samsung are lower class hacks who have to steal from them. Am I right?

Funny thing is that iOS is so locked down, there is no innovation, whereas Android is really evolving because it is open source and customizeable. Its ironic because Apple claims they are innovating, but from where I stand Android is the OS that's evolving the most, and iOS looks stale by comparison.

Just watch, in a few years the tides will change, Apple will go stale, and this time there won't be Steve Jobs and his iPod to save them. Suckers lol :D

You need to differentiate between possibilities and capabilities. iOS is 95% as capable as android in its stock form. The difference is that because android is open source, there are more possibilities for tinkering. But considering how small the number of people that actually root their Android phones is, for most people that's irrelevant.

I don't know what you've been reading but there are dozens of legitimate sites dedicated to rooting/romming. Last time I checked xda alone had a little over 4 million registered users the majority of which are android users. So you're assumption that there is a low amount of android users who actually do root their phones is a fallacy. I personally tell anyone I meet about rooting/jailbreaking their phone. I feel that anyone who buys a iphone/android and knows how to actually use it should know about the communities that go along with them.

Worst part about Apple's tactics, is that it's HURTING US! Not HTC!

This means that Apple is basically flipping the middle finger at potential iOS users, Ex-iOS users..

All the Android vendors are on the defensive, Apple is on the offensive. Being on the offensive can sometimes be called Anti-consumer. If Apple's main goal in life is to kill off Android, and not LICENSE it's ideas, than that's 100% anti-consumer, and the FTC, FCC, FDA and any other Federal Agency should smack Apple silly..

If you read Steve jobs biography he has a quote saying he will spend all of apples 40 billion dollars destroying android. Sounds like anti competition to me.

IMO, ecosystem is more for user retention.

The apps you buy become useless if you leave the platform.

The percentage of android users that root and ROM their devices is very, very small. The percentage of android and iOS users that frequent forums or places like AC (for their equivalent handset choice) is similarly, very very small.

And quality of apps. Android has gotten far, far better, but there is still a perception that android apps are inferior to iOS apps.

I'll just leave this here

While I don't necessarily agree with the article, some folks think iOS is better to hack and tweak.

It's certainly a harder exercise on ios.
