Other countries have different laws, cultures, procedures, and precedents. Of course lawsuits have different outcomes depending where they're filed.

I think she's clueless anyway. First she said the Tab 10.1 didn't infringe. Then she changes her story when a higher court suggests she reconsider, and issues an injunction after all. Then, the jury tells her she's wrong again. What an idiot.

Of course, this was the same jury that awarded millions to Apple for Samsung devices that DIDN'T infringe.

Bottom line is: Samsung never stood a chance in that court. They're fighting on Apple's home turf.

When an appeals court remands a case to a lower court because they think you did something wrong, only an idiot would ignore them. The justices felt that Apple was likely to win in their claims against the Tab based on the evidence Apple gave in the appeal. THAT is the basis for an injunction. Since neither side gave their full case, that decision could change. Obviously, after hearing all the evidence, the jury disagreed.

Of course, this was the same jury that awarded millions to Apple for Samsung devices that DIDN'T infringe.

Its called an oversight. Let's see how you would do when going through 700 individual items without mistakes.

You're right, they didn't. With the volume and severity of the infringement, they're lucky it wasn't worse.

They're fighting on Apple's home turf.

Or, Android fans don't agree with the decisions of a court and a jury, and decide that since they disagree with them they are all 'idiots'. If the jury ruled in favor of Samsung, or the judge did as well, you would be singing her praises. Get real.

Quote to the above post, it really wasn't a fair trial from the start, the community's economy depends on apple, piss them off and the whole thing goes up in smoke. It was clearly held so close to apples hq for a reason, of course the jury and judge was already biased in apples favor, Samsung didn't stand a chance from the start of the trial. Add in some blockhead, lead juror who forced the jury to rush the decision when it should have taken at least 3 days to come to a conclusive agreement and there you go.

Anyone who thinks that Koh was payed off is (in my opinion) a grumpy Android fanboy. A judge is not going to risk throwing away their career over a patent case. Biased, maybe. But not not certainly not payed.

She wasn't even biased. She granted as many Samsung motions as she did apple's. Heck, she denied a TON of apple's requests, but you rarely hear about that in these conversations.

Know what else isn't mentioned? That juror that told CNET that they decided Samsung was guilty on day one when they were given the internal emails. Or that lead juror, "jury foreman", that said Samsung was guilty because he was a patent holder himself and knew more than other jurors. That isn't about fanboy'ism or nothing else, is about a jury doing what's right and making their decision after hearing ALL the evidence. Not after day 1 of a three week trial. Shutting out facts that have surfaced against Apple because it's easier to say android users are "butt-hurt" is just ignoring the truth on the matter. I wouldn't have anything to say if they hadn't made stupid comments to the press about deciding Samsung was guilty on the first day, and that guidelines it took legal teams three days to read only took a jury 3 days to decide on and read, something smells and it isn't butt-hurt android supporters.

How many people in the population has an iPhone? How many of the jurors had an iPhone? I think it has an impact, but even if the jurors had mostly android, it would have an effect the other way just like s3 android lovers are for Samsung and apple heads are for apple in the case.

There is no way to get a truly unbiased decision with the patent system in shambles and USA being a mobile society. Even the supreme court can't give truly unbiased decisions in this, they are going to have cellular devices too, and it would be hard pressed to find someone who isn't in-touch with the mobile world. This trial was a media frenzy from the start, with people claiming that Apple was an American company when they had to bring in compliance groups to their Foxconn - China factory to investigate because people were killing themselves and living in dorms just to put the sacred iPhone together. How easy to forget that part because the most valuable company might lose some street cred.
