Apple / Samsung Court Ruling

Too bad the USSR dropped out of the space race. I don't think man will ever leave Earth's orbit in our lifetime.
The point I'm making is android needs Apple like NASA needed the USSR. Competition drives innovation. Without these heavy hitters trying to one up each other, technology would be at a standstill.

Sidenote: Nexus S was the first smartphone in space. What's up now Apple? iCBMs?

Exactly....but they want to be the lone wolf. It is quite sad actually.

Apple is horrible and wrong for trying to ban Samsung's products... but Google is awesome when they try to do it to Apple?

BRILLIANT!

You see it from rose colored lenses, Google is just FIGHTING BACK.

Are you even paying attention to yourself? Imagine if it had started with Google, with them starting the brawl? You'd be yelling praises about how Google was protecting its IP.

As for my 'rose tinted glasses'? I have ONE iOS device, and that's likely going to change to a big fat zero by the end of the year. At the same time, I have two Android devices. One of them even came from Samsung.

Take your accusations of bias somewhere else, they don't hold any weight.

Look at the facts. Apple started it, no reason to twist what "could be," because Google is about innovation and open source. I doubt they would ever care to pick on the poor kid holding his sign on the street in CA.

HEAVY lol!

Of course there is not evidence of that. Wow did my previous statements get the girls panties in a wad or what lol. They will decline though, Samsung plays well and so does many others. Apple is not being nice, and they are burning bridges....watch as they reduce themselves to lower quality manufactures for partnerships and watch their product decline....it is inevitable...

Are they going to do that? I guess other divisions of Samsung scrambling to distance themselves from this situation has more to do with interoffice softball than an attempt to retain their contracts with Apple.

Google is about innovation?

Excuse me a moment, I have to go laugh. What? You're serious? You think they're innovating by using a modified version of somebody else's product to make their browser (chrome)? How about taking the best parts of social networking and throwing them together to make something better (google plus)? Or how about Android? I'm sure that they made that, at least.

Oh, okay, so they bought Android.

Neither Google nor Apple have innovated in the past five years.

Google is also only about Open Source when it suits them. This isn't any better, or worse, than any other company. I don't see why people assume that any company is out there for your benefit. Google isn't, Apple isn't, Microsoft isn't, Nokia isn't, RIM isn't, and the list goes on to list every company out there. Companies aren't there for some altruistic good, or for some ideology.

Google is out there to make money. Sometimes that means they work well with Open Source, sometimes it means they have to go proprietary. It's how the world works.

You should read the link I posted. They have clearly innovated in the past few years.

Back in the day Apple's primary case against Microsoft Windows 2 was the "look and feel" argument. Their original position was that they had developed to graphics interface, and that any company who wanted to use a graphicsd (as opposed to text) interface was in violation of patent.

Since then they've had to dial it back a notch or two, but there is still that entitlement mentality in Apple's legal department.

Imagine what it might be like to drive a car these days if Daimler had been granted a patent on the automobile steering wheel concept based on look and feel.
