Apps on SD card lost, but cannot download from Play because it thinks I still have them

My main screen still shows (greyed out) the launchers for programs that I lost when my SD card failed. I've replaced the card, but I cannot re-install the lost programs because the Play Store thinks the programs are still installed. How can I make it realize this isn't the case?

I just realized the ones I was trying were all from the Amazon App store. I cannot find, either on the phone (Galaxy S4) or on the Amazon website, any way to re-download an app it thinks I have installed. I was able to re-download some from the Play Store, but only from within the app on the phone.

Make sure you aren't downloading the same app from both stores. This can cause conflict. Check the play store website, not the Amazon website, for the apps.

OK. Thanks. I had gotten several of them from Amazon when they were the free app of the day. It seems the only way to re-install is to delete the apps from my Amazon account, on their website, which means I will need to buy them again. Tough losing a bunch that are now as much as $10.

Ah, free apps of the day. I see why you are downloading from the Amazon app store. I think your Amazon account has a history of apps you had, and you can visit the page on your PC. Maybe try removing it from there.
