Are you getting a G6 or an S8?

Tough call. Hardware on the S8 seems likely to be better hardware, LG might edge it out on software. Still need a lot of info on what Samsung's bringing with the camera this year.

If I were getting a new phone in the next couple of months I would go with the G6 mainly because the screen is flat.

I'm liking the looks of the S8 more and more each time it leaks!!! Already have the LG V20 so not really interested in the G6 that much...

The G6 intrigues me. I'm not really feeling it for the curved edges of the S8 screen. I like the size of the G6. Slightly smaller than the S7 Edge. If it comes in around $700, it may sway me vs the $870 S8.

I very highly doubt that the S8 would be priced at $1000. They need to get some of their customers back, not chase them away. $699-$799. I don't think it goes higher than that.

True, but the 11 GB, is just OS and LG bloatware. Doesn't even include the carrier bloatware. I don't understand why so much storage is required for Android. iOS only takes up around 2 GB.

True. When I had a Pixel it took 11 with OS and 85 apps accounted for. Pretty low.

I've used LG in the past and enjoyed the experience, and I really like the look of the G6... So I'd probably go for that over the S8. Especially since the 6 has dual cameras. My Honor 8 has dual cameras as well, so I definitely get good use out of that feature!

Neither. Not because they're terrible but because I have no plans to swap phones.

If I had to choose, probably the Galaxy S8+. I'm not a fan of LG's decision to feature-swap G6s according to geographical location. The G6 is very appealing, but LG still needs to prove a ton in software support as they've historically been "meh" in that regard.

I mean, sure. The G3 got Lollipop very quickly. The G4 got Marshmallow quickly too, and the G3 wasn't far behind at all. But at keeping them updated, they're not good at that. The G3 was stuck on a bug-ridden build of Lollipop for ages (to add insult to injury, it was 5.0, not even 5.0.1) and the G4 lagged behind on security patches, not to mention that LG initially decided not to update both the G4 and V10 to Android 7 citing difficulties in "ensuring optimized performance" (Though I'm pretty sure I know the real reason why), only to reverse that after an outcry.

I hope LG improves on this, because this is where even their arch-rival Samsung is better at (to an extent).

Why is ANY manufacturer making 32 GB phones in 2017 in the first place??? Give me 128GB standard, and 11GB doesn't seem so much...
