Are you gonna buy a pixel or the 3 XL

After a year of baby pixel 2 I feel I need more battery, whether it is just general degradation or Android 9 Pie but I just can't get a full day out of it now.

I know the new pixel 3 has more juice but how will it hold up against a bigger screen?

Will just wait for the reviews to drop them decide

Yup, only time (and reviews) will tell. 🤣

I can't go backwards in size but I hear you.

The thing I am waiting on most is the price for the different models.

I suspect posters here are much more "phone smart" than the average person, who may buy more on price than specs.

"3 Time" is approaching - get your credit cards ready folks!

Upon wakening this AM I now have a desire for a white P3 with a clear case.

I know I can't speak for everyone because we all have different incomes and obligations but the difference isn't enough for me to buy based on cost. I want the big phone with the big storage

Agree on all points. Will buy the P3 because of the size mostly. Had an XL and it was not all that comfortable to use. The small phone with the small storage is more than enough for me.

Is the width different between the two?

I can't wait for the announcement but what makes Google think they can get away with skipping dual sensors on the rear while thinking we somehow need two on the front? I don't really agree with that decision but I'm just here for the camera segment. Everything else is ok.

It's funny.... but I recall when LG was one of the first with two rear cameras no cared. Now everyone is jumping on the band wagon.

To your point I don't what to logic is with two selfie as opposed to two rear. I would have preferred 2 plus 2 but I'm good with how they did it. I would have like a rear wide angle. The digital zoom on the Pixel yields decent results.

True I just see it as a missed opportunity especially if you're going to prioritize the selfie cameras. I mean how many different selfie can one take?lol Wide angle on Pixel would be a match made in heaven and I know this because of Moment/Sirui lenses but I'd rather tap an icon than carry around an extra lens but that's just what I'll do for special occasions if I end up getting the Pixel 3. But stereo recording is a must in 2018 going forward for me.

By the way I wasn't referring to you when I said no one cared about dual cameras. I liked the wide angle feature on the G5 and V20. It was tough giving it up going to the Pixel 2XL but the photos on the Pixel just impressed me that much. I wish the Pixel had some manual controls though.

Oh yeah I knew you weren't referring to me. If I get the Pixel 3 the Moment camera app looks like a perfect match for manual mode. Check it out if you haven't yet.

Edit: nevermind about the Moment app. It seems like they're still working out the bugs. But there's always Manual camera which is fantastic and works even on budget phones so I'm sure it'll be a breeze on the P3.

Thought it was the iPhone that started with dual camera for rear? Could be wrong maybe first to the market

The iPhone was late to the dual camera party. Actually it was LG and HTC first with their 3D secondary sensors then HTC with the One M8. LG again with the secondary wide angle camera on the G5, Huawei with the P9(black and white sensor) and then Apple with the first telephoto second sensor on the iPhone 7. A little history lesson for ya.
