Nope.... thing's on like its been welded there. There might be a couple here or there, but I haven't heard of it being widespread.

I think the back thing might be due to find defective batteries, or perhaps misused batteries.. No name chargers, etc... If the battery pack expands, it'll pop off the back.

Either way, an expanding, swollen battery is a serious issue that could keep me from spending $750 for the device. I'm really disappointed with how both Google and Motorola have so sloppily handled the release of this device. The lack of availability of the Nexus 6 is ridiculous in itself. Now, what with a good number of people experiencing issues of varying degrees, it's making me question whether I should shell out the money for it, especially since I was already concerned about the so far lack of third-party repair options in case of mishap. Motorola and /or Google need to address this issue to the buying public. Although I was planning to get this device in the spring, I'm not 100% sure at this point.

I totally understand, and agree. I keep waiting for some of the more egregious problems to be addressed, but so far nothing has happened. I've lost a lot of confidence in the N6. It seems that some (maybe even the majority) are getting great phones with only minor issues that likely will be addressed. But a significant number are reporting problems with random rebooting, freezing, or just turning off, as well as the possible battery issue causing the back to start coming off. What concerns me the most is that there are reports from a number of people that they have returned their phones, only to receive replacement phones with the same problem. I don't expect a phone to be perfect, but I do expect it to work reliably. And I'm appalled that Motorola and Google have shown little-to-no interest in addressing these concerns. Maybe the next big update will take care of these things, but maybe not. Without a definitive answer, I'm starting to look elsewhere.

Yes, exactly. I totally agree. At this point, unless Google and Motorola address these issues in the coming months and can guarantee quality control, I don't feel comfortable ordering the device sight unseen. The plan was to get one direct from the Play Store. I realize I could go into T-Mobile, actually hold one in hand and purchase it, but my heart has been set on the CW version, which they don't offer. Being a prepaid customer, I have no need to add a qualifying plan just to purchase the phone outright, at a more pricey carrier rate. As much as I had my heart set on stock Android, I, too, may look elsewhere, and that is disheartening.

If the size doesn't bother you then I think you'll really enjoy it.

I've tested a display unit at AT&T, and I was in awe. I have no doubt that I would enjoy having the device, despite having smaller hands. It's just that I've been following this device since before launch, knowing that I wanted my next phone to be a Nexus. Just like I'd expect any competent consumer to do, I've researched; read and seen as many reviews and user accounts as possible. I realize any phone one buys can have issues, of course, but being that Google wanted to try their hand at going premium build for premium price after being affordable in the past, one who buys it should feel that they're getting what they pay for. At this moment, I don't know if I would be.

I don't blame you and I am also concerned about the build quality of the Nexus 6. On some of the other forums that were discussing the Note 4 and the Nexus 6, one of the deciding factors in favor of the Nexus 6 was the build quality. That doesn't look to be the case anymore. I have read a half dozens articles already and been a part of a couple of threads where people are reporting with pictures the problems they are having with the backplate of the Nexus 6 coming unglued. Considering that, and the other hardware advantages that the Note 4 has, I don't know how a person could choose the Nexus 6 over the Note 4 at this time. Not unless Motorola fixes the issue.

So after using mine for over a month I have couple of issues (in order of importance):
1. Size. I thought I'd get used to it but I don't know if I ever will. Every time I pick up my wife's Nexus 5, my hand feels so "happy" LOL. There's simply no way to use it one handed (unless you have huge hands.... I'm 6'2" with good size hands).
2. Material choice. Yes, it looks good but it's extremely slippery and ANY drop will scratch it because the sides are metal. What's even worse is that it's a painted metal and you can't simply smooth scratches out with steel wool.

My previous phone was 2013 MotoX (naked) and I dropped it about 10 times (one was really nasty on concrete floor) within 1.5 years. And it still looked like brand new when I sold it. This is what I call great design choices. I already dropped N6 (also naked) 5 times and all 4 corners are banged up. The falls weren't even that bad.

Anyway, I wish there was a smaller Nexus with the same or better camera.

I hate to admit it, as I hate to be a part of the seemingly growing "Samdroid" crew, but I agree. As much as I can't stomach TouchWiz, at this point the Note 4 is the better buy; the battery optimization seems to be better, not to mention the fact that it's user replaceable, with an SD card slot. Those are comforts to me. I just so looked forward to having Lollipop out of the box and fast updates with the Nexus. We shall see.

Manufacturing is not a perfect endeavor. Whether you read about it or not on forums every phone has defective batches and or units that get pushed out the door for sale.

My nexus 4 and 6 both have top notch build quality and so far have had no problems with either knock on wood.

The problem is as humans we give with more weight to negative stories than positive ones.

This phone is an awesome experience so far. No random rebooting so far, no proximity sensor issues, no backplate issues, battery is awesome with basically everything on, beautiful display with no burn in, sound is full and impressive.

Only negative I could give this is the backplate is smooth so it isn't the grippiest. I like using my phone without a case. Luckily my hand is big so it isn't too much of a problem. The small graphic lag I was noticing I believe is a combo of a memory leak and possibly some optimization left to be done. Usually I restart the phone when i notice some slow down and it is running great again.

I think everyone who is interested in this phone should just order it and try it out for a week or two and if u don't like it return it. I think one you try it you will hold on to it.

I took delivery of my 64 GB Blue directly from Motorola on November 19 and after two full months with the phone I couldn't be happier with this device.. I went from a Rooted Galaxy S3 to the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6... I also picked up a Oneplus One (which my wife now uses)....

Does it have draw backs? Yeah I guess.... Battery life isn't as great as you'd think it would be with all the bragging about battery life improvements with 5.0 and the larger battery... but it easily takes me 14 - 16 hours on a single charge with about 3 - 4 hours of screen on time (in my real world use) after spending about two weeks draining the battery down to see how long it would last I've gone back to top charging at work on the wireless charger.... I now take it off the charger as I leave work at 4 with near 100% remaining and by 10 pm (Bedtime) it's still around 60% remaining... That includes usually 90 minutes of streaming music while at the gym and 2.5 hours of screen on time doing other things between leaving work and bedtime... by morning it's still usually around 50% remaining and it goes on the charger when I get to work..... on and off until lunch and on and off after lunch until I leave.... but I know on a Saturday I can easily got from 9 am to midnight without a worry.......

I adjusted to the size pretty quickly.. I couldn't go back to a smaller device.. Even going down to the Oneplus and it's 5.5 inch screen felt like a compromise I couldn't make... I just love the size.. So much I sold my Nexus 7 and just have my Nexus 6 now... It's the perfect size to be a phone and tablet (For me that is)

outside of that I have not had the rebooting issue.. the unglued back cover issue.... pretty much so far I've not had any of the issues anyone has brought up... It works and it does exactly what I need/want it to do pretty much flawlessly...

6 smartphones. 1st 5 were all Samsung. Now Moto. Best of the bunch. Hampered by not ready for prime time Lollipop. Now that roms , kernels & associated tweaks are available, it's superb. 26- 30 hrs battery life with nearly 4 hrs screen time. Nearly nonexistent random reboots or freezes.
Excellent.
If I didn't like flashing Roms & kernels so much, yeah maybe Note 4 is a better hammer right out of the box. But for us Verizon folks, the N6 has better potential.
