Are you planning to get the Pixel 7?

I bit on the hook, upgraded from P6 to P7. With upgrade from BestBuy it only cost me a net $45 so figured why not.

The **** that bothered me with P6 is gone, that being slow arse failed regularly finger print reader. Nice to have face unlock, has not worked perfectly but seems to be getting better, perhaps it's learning.

Initially it feels a bit more responsive overall, but no specific test to verify my gut feeling.

Upgrade was easy, connect P6 to P7 with charging cable and almost everything was copied over.

Still TBD, is modem any better giving better connection and is battery performance any different.

For $45 it's worth the upgrade, IMHO. I figure P7 will be worth more than $45 vs P6 on any future trade in offers such as P8

Wow, that's a wonderful deal! Glad you're enjoying it and that the Face Unlock is working well! I imagine it's taking time to recognize your face? I can't remember much about it when I had it on my S10.

Asked this in the pre-order thread to no avail...

Can anyone confirm the Verizon upgrade deal? As I read it, it's $700 period (not 'up to') with trade in...and the trade in list includes some oldies and is not condition dependent? Ie: $700 for my LG V30 with chipped (but functional) screen? That seems like an obvious call, if so.

I was offered $200 for my pristine Pixel 6 as a trade in for the P7P at VZW. I decided to go with Google who is offering $490 for a good P6. We'll see. The offer is confirmed after receiving the trade-in phone.

BestBuy is giving $480 for trade in of P6 on P7P, plus $200 gift card.

My Pixel6 has been one of the best phones I've owned. That being said, I've only had it since February and I really don't want to upgrade yet. So maybe next spring or wait for the 8.

Maybe I can go see the Pixel 7 displays at Best Buy tomorrow... Hee hee... I mean, what, I'll only be looking...

Did you see my previous reply (#288)? Yes, $700...with caveats. Done deal.

I was reading a review the other day...

So, the P7 is essentially *identical* to the P6 in every respect other than returning to the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a slightly improved camera that nevertheless loses some the the P6 camera's functionality.

For sure, I will be sticking with the P6Pro for the foreseeable future.

FYI, the finger print sensor is still embedded in the screen.

I wouldn't trust a view that made that statement...

The only way I could upgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro from my S22+ would be to sell my Tab S8, S22+ and then order the Pixel 7 Pro. I am trying to decide if I need the Tablet. I only use it for watching videos and playing games. It's definitely a luxury device and not needed. I know if I held onto the Tablet, I would have it for longer than any phone I get. A tablet is nice to have but it's not always needed.

What to do, what to do.

I honestly don't want to settle for the Pixel 7 if I am going to sell the Tablet. I might as well go for the Pro and deal with the curved screen and with how tall it is.

I have until next week when the Pixels go on sale to decide. $150 off is definitely a good deal.

With trade in and gift card, I upgraded from P6 to P7 for a net $27. Well worth it as P7 is now what the P6 should have been. Finger print sensor works 99.9% of the time, and only need that occasionally when the face recognition doesn't work. Seems the modem is also better, not sure if any different than what was in P6 but perhaps just better design on placement. The P7 seems to fit my hand better as side controls are slightly lower on the device.

Worth the $27 to get rid of the minor aggregation I had with my P6. And I have a new device with warranty and additional year of support.

What an AMAZING deal you got! You're using the regular Pixel 7? How are you finding the camera and pet/children shots, or other photos?

Well, it looks like I'm going to order my Pixel 7 Pro through Verizon. Google dropped the trade in value for my S22 plus from $620 to $535. Verizon will give me $800 off via monthly credits.

I may end up going through the Google store after all as I will have to upgrade my unlimited data plan from $45 to $55 a month. So it would be about the same per month either place. I will have to go through the numbers later when I have time.

Yeah, it was one of those that seemed too good to be true, but all worked out as expected.

No issues with camera, pics look good and new tools available for photo editing are nice.
