Are you planning to get the Pixel 7?

Thanks for posting this!

I just reached out to them and got $65 bucks refunded (I had a 10% coupon I used during the initial order so they split the difference, which I think is fair).

You're welcome. There were several people on Reddit who were saying that they would honor the Black Friday deals as long as you ordered within at least 14 dyas of the deal.

The value on my S22 plus kept changing. For a while it was $620. Then a couple of days ago it changed to $535 for less than 24 hours, then it went up to $650. So I didn't want to wait another 5-6 days in case they dropped the trade in value again.

I have seen several people post that. Once Google receives the phone they get a trade in amount of more than what was estimated. Hopefully this will be your case too!!

I'm probably going to wait about a week before I buy a case for it in case I need or want to send it back. But I don't foresee that happening.

That's a pretty good strategy. I'm the opposite: once I'm sure I'll buy the phone, I get my accessories beforehand. But once I do that, I gotta make sure I'm *fully* committed!

I will probably end up buying a standard $10 clear case from Amazon this week. But I'm not going to be committed to keeping the phone unless it blows me away. I have pretty much regretted getting rid my S21 Ultra for this S22+. The performance and battery life was so much better on the 21 Ultra.

I can understand that philosophy ... but I like to get at least one cheap case (or an easily returnable case) so I'm comfortable rocking the phone out in the wild. Can't put the phone through all the places without taking it out and about... and to do that with a naked phone you may want to return is too risky for me

Still haven't told my wife that I ordered the phone. I figure I'll break the news to her when the phone arrives either tomorrow or Wednesday. She'll be like, you're switching phones again? Didn't you just get that one? What's wrong with it?

I came so close to ordering the 7 but ended keeping my s 22 Ultra. After comparing both of them the s22 seemed to be the better fit for me let's see what Google does for the 8.

I'm the same as you... I do my research, try out the phones in store, then commit to buying the accessories and the phone :p I've never returned a phone ;)

Me going into the Verizon store helped me make the decision to get the Pro. The 7 just didn't feel very premium and the curved edge on the Pro wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. I'll probably be buying a case today on Amazon so it will be here when the phone arrives. I also can't see the value on spending more than $20 on a case. Sure, I'll usually have 3-4 cases that I'll swing between. I almost never drop my phone so I've never had the need to spend that much on a case. I've always gone with a slim tpu case.

Even I had many phones, but I always sell or trade-in my old phones. There's always 2 phones remain with me. Right now P7pro and ZF3.

My Pixel 2XL panda 128GB won't stop powering off when I plug it in to charge, a dealbreaker since i use it for nav in my car and on the motorcycle. I tried cleaning the USB-C power port and doing a factory reset, still does it. I will miss it, i've had it for 5 years. My Motorolo Moto X before it was my first smartphone, so the Pixel 7 i'll be ordering in a few days (black friday sale, white 256GB model) will only be my 3RD smartphone, haha. I hope it lasts me 7 years this time around! Joining the Pixel 7 club by sheer necessity it looks like!

Yep I also usually keep my phones long enough that they have no resale or trade in value to speak of... and I always get them on sale so I don't actually spend that much on them ;) It's even better now that Google and Samsung support their phones for 5 years of security updates :p
