Are you still happy with the g4?

I'm debating on going back to my nexus 6. Only downside would be the camera. I'd miss manual mode. The LG g4 just has a lot of small quirks that get on my nerves. Lag, keyboard stops responding. I just feel like the nexus 6 was a better phone for me.

I like the G4 but the Nexus 6 ran so much smoother!

I've only had my AT&T G4 for about 4 days but I am totally sold on it right now. I honestly don't have one negative thing to say about it. Even the buttons on the back because it seems to make more sense anyway. Just a matter of getting used to that. I'll say one thing abut this G4, when turned up to max, those notifications are LOUD :D

I'm so disappointed I can't find the words to adequately describe it. I traded in a perfect G3 which was fluid and fast for this turd. The freezing, lag and touch issues are driving me mad. I exchanged the first one thinking it was a dud only to find the same problems in the second one. I've tried the myriad of "fixes" I've seen on the forums to no avail. I just want it to work when I pull it from my pocket. Is that too much to ask? Apparently YES to LG. I'm so done. This has gone on far too long. I got my first G4 on release day. Come on Note 5!

Good points Steve. I -did- delete the ga-zillion screenshots I had just sitting there, I Clear-all it every few days, turn down brightness (thank you LUX app!!!), and turn off Apps not in use.

No complaints about battery life, even though I use it a lot for The Chiv, Google Maps (my passenger looks, not me), lots of Hot-Spot usage for my kids, not too much use as an actual phone surprisingly.

Heat - yes, it can get hot. I use the video mode a bit & that's the only time I notice how hot it gets. I have switched out the leather back for the plastic-y one and added a two-part case though. Heat dissipation may be a factor as a result.

You can "speed up" response by turning down the motion delay of the graphics. In Developer Options, Drawing, set the Window animation scale, the Transition animation scale, and the Animator duration scale all to .5X. Setting them to "off" actually takes longer for some strange reasons.

I was real happy with this phone in many ways, great camera, screen is big and beautiful. However, the Verizon service at my house is weak and I have noticed the phone is constantly switching between 3G and 1X while at home. To keep a call connected I have to stand by the back door or go outside. The phone gets real hot and battery drains way too fast. When I leave the house and travel uptown the phone settles in and lasts all day. I didn't have this problem with my last phone while at home. As much as I love the G4 I'm going to have to get rid of it for a Note 5 or Moto X Pure when they are released. The no SD card rumor for the Note 5 is a real bummer for me.

That's a bummer, sorry. Can you get a cell repeater from Verizon? I think someone mentioned getting one from them. It would provide a tiny cell "tower" in your house that would communicate with Verizon's network over your internet connection. It would also help any other Verizon device in your house get a better signal.

I came from a Galaxy S3, my signal reception seems similar with the G4. If your last phone, for instance, gave 3 bars of 4G, and your G4 can't even hold onto a 3G signal, perhaps something is wrong with the phone itself?

I wanna start the G4 positivity thread. It's not fair though, I get that people need to vent their frustrations. Just saying.

I parked my G4 and bought the ZTE Axon, quite simply the best android experience I have ever had and quite frankly I wasn't expecting it. The G4 was nice but I had serious lag issues that I thought I fixed and they came back, and it just felt cheap. The Axon is like a big m9, excellent metal build quality that feels great and the sound will blow you away.

Frankly, I'm not big fan of positivity threads where everyone just gushes about how happy they are with their phone. I usually don't even bother to read them; they are basically all the same post. "I love my phone". Sorry; I'm definitely not trying to thread crap, but in my honest opinion, this thread is better suited to discuss the G4 actual user experience, and it has done so in a very civil and fair manner. It's actually overwhelmingly positive, while still giving people a chance to mention the problems they do encounter. I like this thread.

I just finished my first week of college, which provided a good testing ground for the LG G4.

I had to charge it before college ended for the week because, for some reason, Wi-Fi doesn't work in the building and had to rely on my phone's LTE connection (and wasting my precious data cap ;_; ) (And yes, I have an extra battery)

That's not poor battery life because it lasting nearly my entire college session is actually pretty good considering that it's like 6 hours long and my phone was my primary internet device for that session.

Wi-Fi in the building now works and my G4 got home today with a 45% charge under similar usage. It's getting better.

Caveats? Well, so far, there isn't really any. Maybe the phone could use a slightly brighter display (it's still pretty bright) but I can't complain. Still loving every second of using it.

thats good news. Mine seems to be getting better too. Not sure if its because I'm using it less since we're getting busy at work, or if its settling in or battery conditioning. Either way I'll take it. Got a mophie as a backup too!

This is my SOT after medium-heavy use.

Started out at college in 9:10am. Connected to WiFi and checked on AC for 10 minutes. Put the phone to sleep during class for 80 minutes.

Then, constant Web browsing and media playback for 80 minutes, and light usage with the calculator and other smaller apps for 160 minutes.

Usage was mixed for the remaining time until the battery died.

For those experiencing keyboard lag....swype is the answer if you will just give it a whirl....

Swype is a patch, root is the answer:)

Some may not want to root. I would rather just change apps if the stock lags (I usually use SwiftKey anyway) and not have to root since I wouldn't use root features.
