They were completely useless. I delt with 2 different people (in the same week). They sent me to a local ubreakifix in the middle of our pandemic lockdown. Ubreakifix told me Google wasn't going to help me as soon as I walked through the door and showed them the problem.
They said Google sent me it to have them do a diagnostic and create a file in their system and Google would recommend I have ubreakifix repair the phone, which would void my warranty. I declined the repair. The diagnostic showed there was nothing wrong with phone other than the back panel coming off (April).
after visiting ubreakifix and following up with Google support, they said the back panel coming off isn't a warranty-able issue. It only covers internals from inside the display to inside the back glass. And they recommended that I pay to replace the phone using my Pixel protect insurance. There was nothing they could do for me.
After, dealing with th 2nd support agent I called, Assurant who runs the pixel protect insurance and they told me that it was a manufacturer's defect in the first year and I should call Google Support. I told them I already had. Then they told my my insurance was cancelled.
I've been using my Pixel 2xl as my main phone ever since. And using the Pixel 4xl for a Pokemon Go.
I kind of just don't know what to do. I figured I'd wait a while and try again.
Btw, I bought my P4xl on launch day from the Canadian Google Store. And generally I don't have battery issues. But Pokemon go is a battery suck and I have to charge during the day if I'm playing.
