"It's a shame that companies like Samsung Display don't seem concerned with offering up the truth." (Show me a company that states the truth if/when it will hurt their bottom line!)
I truly feel for those who suffer from this issue. Unfortunately it's much like those who desire/want/need a smaller form factor phone. The cost of development, along with low sales makes it unprofitable. These companies don't care about anything but more, and more sales...PERIOD! Until the powers that be (Samsung, Google, Apple) decide to play nice in the sand box the only other option is to search for a phone that still uses LCD (which has always been fine to me) or buy a phone from one of the other companies that DO alter their screens to cater to those who suffer from this problem.

I think with device's today having curve glass and foldable display OLED were used not sure LCD could be used in those situations and if it could probably be costly.

In my case LCD is useless outdoors in the sun for a different reason related to vision. I wear polarized sunglasses.
