I know this has been posted before. I have been searching for a while to find anything recent on it. Last I read, someone said messages and calls go through Samsung's servers but they were looking into moving that to the carriers which would make buying a different carriers watch not work well.
I really want to get the watch but I am not paying $399 (or $349 with 2 year contract) at Verizon when AT&T has it for $299 (or $99 with 2 year contract). That is absurd to me. I could see AT&T running an online deal for $50 or even $100 cheaper, not $250.
So to my question, can I still buy the watch at AT&T and have it work with my Verizon phone? I know it would work with BT with my phone but what about if I leave my phone at home?
Second semi-related question, if I do buy it at AT&T with no data plan just to use with BT, would my phone need to be turned on as a hotspot for the watch to use data (for GPS, etc)?
