AT&T Gear S2 3G Number Sync?

Just paid attention to title of this thread, if you're on AT&T it's 4G not 3G,like the other carriers who may on be getting 3G

How do you setup the watch to start number sync? My phone does not have that option anywhere

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...l=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.att.com%2F&token=vLWcfONW then in the search box type numbersync first result up top which should take you here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...000L%26wtExtndSource%3Dnbrsync&token=gut2EA7C
then scroll down a little and click on the wearables tab
now scroll down to the bottom and you'll see a big blue "Manage NumberSync" https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...FactionType%3DManageNumberSync&token=4s-3oACJ

Yes I know been there done that over 20 times last night/today. AT&T Support folks have called me multiple times today because they can't figure it out. After I put in the sync code on either my laptop or my phone, I get the following error after pressing the gray SYNC button:

A temporary system error prevents us from processing your request. We're working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Further help: Contact Customer Care. (SVC_MSSI_BE_FAILURE)

When I go into account to put in passcode it will only allow me to select one phone and not any of the other phones on the same account

very interesting, have you tried using different browsers? Clearing your cache on your browser? Might be your I.P. address to, espically if your using a VPN service. Just something else to consider, when trying to use your phone ar you at home on WiFi? If so try NOT connecting to WiFi if the errors are happening while at home.

I have a question about Lollipop 5.0 or 5.1. I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 i527. Recently purchased the Gear S2 eagerly anticipating the release of number sync. It is now here but the feature cannot be activated due to the fact that my phone does not support HD voice. If I'm understanding correctly, if somehow I can upgrade my phone to one of the Lollipop versions, will this upgrade give my Mega 6.3 the HD voice capability?

Haven't heard of any OTA updates for Lollipop for the Mega 6.3 from AT&T. Will I have to root my phone and then download Lollipop myself? If so then what is the most trusted and functional rooting process? I hear of Kingroot but am unsure for security purposes. I will also have to find a downloadable file of Lollipop.

No its a problem because its a business account. I am getting the same error.

I spent about 3 hours dealing with this last night, because I was trying to setup 2 watches with NumberSync (my number with my watch, and husband number with his watch). Here's what I ended up having to do. Go to AT&T account on computer, go to Account Profile, Manage Access ID, Manage Authorized Users, then create and Access ID for the number you are trying to sync. Then when you go back to the watch and follow all of the steps, you will login to AT&T with the new Access ID instead of the one you had been using. I may be forgetting one or two steps somewhere, so feel free to ask questions if I'm not making enough sense.

It all worked perfect after doing that.

Where is "Manage Access ID" under Account Profile? Do I just need to create a new login for the new number assigned to my watch?

Go to myAtt
Go to Profile
Go to Update my Profile
Then to the right of "AT&T Access ID Profile" you will see Manage my AT&T Access ID, click on that
Then next to Contact E-mail Address you will see Manage Account Access, click on that
Then you will see a list of Access ID's, if the number you are trying to NumberSync is not on that list, click on Offer Others Account Access

None of that is showing for me. When I go to Profile, what you described is not there. I see "AT&T Access ID Profile" but the word "manage" does not appear on this page.

OK, after disabling NumberSync a couple of days ago, I've re-enabled it. For those that have been using it for a while: what would I lose as far as information being displayed on the watch if I disable bluetooth? (My thinking is that, with NumberSynch active, anything as far as messages or phone calls, get "pushed" to the watch. If so, I can save battery on both devices by turning off bluetooth for both of them while I'm wearing the watch and have the phone with me).

Thanks,
crp

Ok, I'm not sure why...your best bet may be to get on "live Chat" with AT&T and have someone walk you through how to get it done. You just tell them you need an Access ID for whatever number it is you're trying to NumberSync.

I tried to create a new account with my watch number and it gave me an error about being a business line. So not sure if that is the issue or not.

Just wondering, with number sync now available do I still need a separate line for my Gear2?
